Alot of people use hiking boots for the ankle support. But i personally use just bog standard skating shoes becoz they give a bit more ankle support than normal trainers but don't weigh a tonne !!!!!!!!!!! :D

Same here. I find they have just the right amount of traction to stay on the board and when skudding on grass, the grip is shallow enough to become filled with grass and mud - just the right amount of skid, basically. :D

I find that normal trainers are adequate with not too much grip I don't mean to advertise in any way but I have always used my old pumas as they normallt dont have much grip on the soles but they have enough for when you need it. I have tried walking boots and find them good for the ankle suppport but on the bad side they have far too much grip so if the kite does grap some power which to be honest we want it to I normally find my self flat on my face being pulled on my front instead of a controled pull on my heels.

Hi, i will give my advice, I have always worn good quallity boots when flying after doing my ankle while flying me blade, I was in loads of pain for weeks after, and it still not 100%, even though they have grippy bottoms I can still skud when wet, you only need to land bad once and it can stop you flying for weeks, so although i might look like a dork, puts my mind at rest having them on. Be safe have fun:D
