It's about time you got a new record Calum.

I'd sat on 13,241 since April, then had a free evening the other night so did some intensive training. I got it going as fast as I could for as long as I could, until my arm was so tired I could hardly spin it more than 3 or 4k. Did this a few times, with a break of a couple of minutes each time, then tried a top speed run after a break of about 10 minutes.

Was really excited when I saw my display flashing...but was disappointed to see it showing 13,244! An increase of 3!! Another try and it was flashing 13,476 though...much better. My new target of 13,500 by the end of the year should be easy, so I'm gunning for 14,000 again now.

If you can, post a 90s score on Powerballs.com. If you challenge for the top few places you'll need a video. Mine was taken with my phone!

Watch it Calum, I'm coming for your record. Just been on a live chat on Gyrotek.com, talking with 14k+ powerballers, and we had a little on-line competition...top speed and 90s. I won the speed challenge with a new record (for me) of 13579 - left hand too, but couldn't come through on the 90s challenge and came third. Was because I did too much training earlier and was knackered. Now my left shoulder hurts. But that was an improvement of 337 wiith my left hand. Do that again and I could be hitting the top 100. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, if you're interested, the official Metal Powerball is out soon. Named the 350Hz, it's being released with a heavy rotor first, which Akis can't even manage 12k on, and then coming with a lighter, 20,000 RPM rotor later on. Shiny chrome, with counter, and apparently comes in a completely see-through magnetic case... ?

Should be interesting, but I expect it's going to be expensive. I'll get one or two I'm sure. ;)

Forget them if they don't say NSD or Powerballs.com or Nanosecond... copies like the one in the link are naff - you'll get fed up with it verey quick and want a "proper" one.

Play.com is your best bet.

What is it and what does it do? :s
It's a gyroscope that, when spinning fast, produces torque...pressure against your arm. In straining to hold your arm still you can not only work just about all the muscles from your fingers to your shoulders, but you can also speed the gyroscope up. More speed = more torque = more of a workout.

I've not had RSI or arm pains since I started using mine about 16 months ago, and my muscles are much more defined. Plus the counter, which logs the speed, is good for a bit of competition against friends and other on-line people.

Quite simply...get one. Or two.
