Guest Nevermind Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 How about mountain boarding? Craig Quote
craikeybaby Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I used to have a snake board, it was great fun, not too sure if I still have it though. When I had my snake board I was into skating too, then got into snowboarding then a bit of surfing and then kiteboarding and mountain boarding. Still like to surf and snowboard occasionally now, but mainly do kiteboarding. Quote
mkratty Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 going down a hill on a beano album strapped to a roller skate .i suppose thats skate boarding..... Quote
jdcalling Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 built my own skateboard windsurfer thingy when i was 13! thundered around a car park all summer untill i got fed up with the cuts and bruises! but it didnt really hurt at 13! makes me cringe now!!!! Quote
Mikeb666 Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 How can u possibly have this poll and not have mountainboarding as one of the options to choose.?? crazy Quote
yowi Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I'm convinced it's easier to learn to ride a board when there's a kite to hang on to. Off course this is rather difficult to prove and largely subjective... Quote
anna1599968635 Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 started of skate boarding....surfing when i was 12/13 then got into windsurfing....went back to surfing then at 21 got into bmxing got hurt alot by 26 then summer this year found out how much fun kite landboarding is....still surf tho!!!!!1 Quote

jjojjas Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 borrowed a mates landboard and jumped on it with my kite in the air.......I still use the same chronic technique today........ Actually when I was a kid (9/10?) I remember a really long thin plastic skateboard I had, pre skate board scene this was........ Quote
c00ky Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Heh, stupidly at the age of 34 I went straight onto a Kite powered Landboard - and being a Flexifol one I could really practice downhill that much! But loved every minute of it since then..... Quote
Ned1599968590 Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 skateboarding i was never very good. but it was fun Quote
kiting mad Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 skate boarding got me started Quote
Gizmo Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Started surfing at 14 and have been ever since. Moved away from the coast and my brother got a Proteam 8 as I left. After a few weeks he then got a 3.5 Bullet and I boiught the Proteam 8. A week went by and I bought a 5m Sammy. 3 weeks passed and I then get my first landboard. Hooked ever since. Now flying a Phantom 12m and riding a Flexdeck and have decided never to sit down when flying a kite unless I absolutley have to to get moving. There are times when a buggy can be useful....lol to all you buggiers out there. With the Phantom I intend to make my own Plywood board ready for the summer and days spent on the coast. If it windy enough watch me fly on the water. If it aint then watch me fly on the sand......woooooo hooooooo. You cant do that in an expensive wheelchair.....lol again at the buggiers. Gizmo the Landboarder (not buggier) pmsl Quote
adamski Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Skateboarding in the 70's! I would have been 10(ish) Then a HUGE lay off when motorbikes took over... one spill too many and in my mid 30's back on a mountainboard:D Quote
Zimbo Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 i used 2 skatboard bout 2 years ago but got board so moved on an now i am doin a real board sport kite landboardin:D Quote
BAS231187 Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 i think id only had a 5 minute go on a skate board about 2 years befor i got the mountin board so i kinda jumped in at the deep end:D . i had to learn how to use the board down hill befor trying it witht the kite.luckily i had been flying powerkites for about 2 years at the time and so i found it easyer to get going with the kite pulling me than i did downhilling. mike c Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Skateboarded from about 11 on and off. Now mostly skate to get around and the odd play. Took up wakeboarding in its early days and have done it ever since but lack of time on the water means I have never got that good. Snowboarded for about the last ten years, mountainboarded for the past two (and enjoy this most of all) and now very much a beginner with a kiteboard. Quote
Spike J Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 made my own skateboard out of a plank of wood and one of my sisters roller skates, that was it I was hooked, went on to buy some decent stuff and make my own decks and make decks for other folk in the area way back in the 70's. I used to use a skate park in wolvo called Arrow skate park riding the big bowels and half pipes, anyone been there? I want to get back into riding bowles and half pipe but its been a long time, I think if a 42 year old turns up at a local skate park one of two thing will happen.....the kids take the p**s and or I will be arested! so at the moment I am ripping up the local car parks in Dudley near where I live on the carve board I have made...... http://www.kitedeck.com/im/new%20toys%202.jpg Quote
Goose1599968659 Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Jesus mate, those boards lik amazin! i ave ridden a stix board, but they luk out of this world! lol, i started Body Boarding, then got fed up with being called the dandruff of teh sea so started to surf, then ATB along with a kite! HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 started skateboarding when i was 8 to 9 (78-ish - crickey , showing me age here LOL ) still longboard now - got a GNS pintale fibreflex carve'long'board with randle 180 II trucks fitted with 76 mm krypto wheels - so smooth , and its pretty stable at speed with loosh'ish trucks (as long as you don't take the mick)... Spike J - wouldn't worry what the kids think , who cares dude , just go for it and enjoy it (nice board's by the way ) Quote
Spike J Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 After I wrote that last reply I thought to my self I am not getting any younger so I got on the net and sorted a new deck and trucks out to get back in to bowl riding, so I have got a Dog Town Bulldog deck and Tracker Six-track trucks on there way to me soon, not made my mind up on wheels yet but the new 66m strickers from ABEC 11 look good. There is a big indoor skate park about 10mile from me caled Eclips, I gave them a ring and found they are open fron 10am till 10pm so as soon as my bits arive I will be up there on a Monday morn when its quite to see how many bones I can bruse in one day. Who cares what the kids say:) My other two boards run on kryp 76mm and 85mm but take a look at my other wheels below I have made for my long board, they are tyres that fit on to Cross Air hubs, thay are 75a hardness so gripp well and are the smoothest wheels I have ever ridden. Thanks for the comments guys:) http://www.kitedeck.com/im/Banana_board.jpg Quote
