Does anybody think they know what the most powerful kite on the market is? I've heard alot about the Blade but I don't have enough knowledge to make a judgement. HELP

Cant say its the most powerful but per power per m2, the C-Quad will spank all I know of.

per square metre= can only be the c-quad

Not totally sure thats true anymore but aint going to argue (and there still effing ugly as sin).

For sheer power I reckon a 26m flysurfer in 70 mph winds would take some beating :D

What about a 13m century in 95mph winds then!!! :D :p

I think I need to set some standards to eliminate variables.

In a standard 20mph (not 20 million) wind with minimal gusting;

NO buggies or boards, just you and the kite on a beach looking for airtime and dragging;

1) Which kite will offer the most verticle pull?

2) Which kite will offer the most horizontal lift?

and finally

3) Which kite is the best for both?

Flysurfer's old Mastair line is silly powerful. The 7m has more grunt than a Blade2 9m. The 9m Mastair picks my 80kg's up a couple of metres off the ground as soon as you can feel a breeze on your face. I haven't flown the 12 or 16m versions!

These fly fast and powerful like race kites but with buckets of lift.

I'd put them up as contenders for the raw power crown, when's the face off? MW05?

It's only a silly question if you look at total power (ie biggest kite wins).

I think the power/m is valid and it's good fun flying the different kites.

So who's interested in some quasi-scientific investigation at Middle Whallop?

If someone had something appropriate to measure the tension with we could put some numbers together, otherwise we'll just have to try them by hand and vote...

Ok power per Square metre sort of makes sense but how do you test all kites in all sizes in all relevant winds (and who decides whats relevant) to work out which is the most powerful. Just not possible and totally subjective anyway.

I once knew a kite who owned 2 burger bars, a fish shop, 4 nightclubs, a casino and a chain of strip joints. He was pretty powerfull, could have your legs broke like THAT!

Yeah, but you can sometimes get more power out of a smaller kite because you can work it more - I flew both a 10.5 Blade III and 4.5 Bullet the other day, both got me moving in much the same winds. Blade was crap for dealing with lulls because it takes five minutes to move around the window, but I had to work the Bullet like a maniac.
