the blade bar has the power lines going to the edges, and then a leash to make the brake lines into a safety system.

the blade bar is expensive.

so....

any alternatives?

But it does the job very well, especially as now the larger blades (8.5 and 10.5) have longer bars (65cm wasn't really up to it). Similar alternatives will be smilarly priced and not as specifically tailored as the blade bar.

are the kite surfing bars strong enough? - just thinking the main lines normally go through the center of a kitesurf setup (correct me if i'm wrong), so the actual bar doesn't need to be as strong.

I was looking @ a samurai bar- £10 cheaper.

I haven't seen any 70cm blade 3 bars about. do u know where u can buy em?

Hi Kitesurf bars are generally the same (deffo in the case of teh Flexi LEi and Blade bars)

The Ozone bar is very nice and has a couple of features that I really like which others do not have, ie being able to pre-tension the brakes to help shape the wing.

Do a search on here as there is a used one and the chap says he will take £45 + P&PI believe it is a 65cm aswell so will work with all your kites fine.

Cheers. Lol, why is it that when ever you get something new there is never any wind? I got a new scrub trampa on thursday and still havent been able to use it, I keep looking out the window and trying to pretend that there is enough wind:D :D

you can make some good bars out of aluminium tube, but its best to put a broom handle inside it to make it stronger. Then, for the centre line, put one of those screw-in eyes (the things that look like hooks with an extra bit to make them into rings!) in the middle for the safety line. You can drill a hole all the way through the bar for the safety line, but this does weaken it.

I used to make them out of old aluminium garden tools (like an old ally rake handle).

hope this helps a bit. You could try it and see if you like the feel of a bar before you spend your money on a proper one, as they are quite expensive.

Sorry I dont really understand what you mean and what are these screw in eyes?

ok. get a piece of ally tube and cut to length. Cut a broom handle to the same length and put it inside the tube. Drill holes in the ends of the bar and put some 4mm cord through them to attach the main lines to.

For the safety lines, put a screw in eye thing (look at link for a pic of them!) in the middle, so you can run the safety line through it. This is the best way of doing it without weakening the bar too much.

understand now?

yea, but its not as big as it would be if you had to put a line through the bar. Also it does not have to go through both sides of the tude, only through one side.

Ok Buggy nut I understand now but dont you still have to drill a hole into the bar to insert the screw eye?
