jtr999 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 on the website of flexifoil they say that the wingspan of the blade 4.95m is in on other sites and in the flexifoil catalogue they say it's 4.3 soo who do i have to believe ?? because if it is 4.3 the frenzy 5 has the same wingspan and is then also as floaty as the blade!!! But they say that you van controle the hangtime of the frenzy by pushing the bar away (longer hangtime but less floaty) and buy pulling it towards you (shorter hangtime but a more floaty landing). And if all this is true i prefer the frenzy above the blade even if you can jump higher with the blade but what i want is a kite with a big windrange where you can jump with but wich has to be VERY FLOATY :D so i can jump higher in big winds. thnx jan:cool: Quote
Mal1599968600 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Belive your own tape measure and nothing else. All my Bullets are around 250-300mm shorter than the sizes quoted in the specs. Quote
jtr999 Posted August 30, 2004 Author Report Posted August 30, 2004 that's the point: i have no tape messuerments Quote
SkintMonkey Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Im guessing the measured wingspan is that of an inflated kite and not deflated....thats where the confusion could be and the lack of accurate results.... Just a thought:) Quote
Steve F Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Mine measures approx 5m deflated. Oo er missus. Quote
Adrena1in Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 The 4.9 Blade 3 has a wingspan of around 4.95 metres...the 4.9 Blade 2 is 5.2 metres. It was a mis-print in the manual when it said 4.3 metres I believe. Quote
xtremenugget Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 i have a b3 4.9 and think its a sweet kite... get one! its drying out behind me now and is 4700mm across wen its flat on the floor from tip to tip Quote
spooky Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Don't panic to much about wings spans as that will not tell you if xx size will be better than yy size wing span. A 4.9 Blade will have more power than the 5m Frnzy (all to do with the way the power is generated, and teh Frenzy having a lower aspect rati, which it needs to gain benifits else where) a 7.3 will be a fairer match BUt yo can not really compare the two as theyare different kites and produce power differntly, example being the Frenzy is not great for static jumpiong which the Blade (or a Samurai) is, but on a landboard they are awaome Depowerable kites (ie Frenzy's) will have a bigger wind range, bets bet is to try one out. If in doubt then go with something simple Blades/Samurais are great alround buggy/boarding/jumpig kites, so get one that willmatch your weight and for teh wnds you will mostly be flying in to start with. Best of luck, Jon Quote
