jtshort42 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 hello all, I have recently taken delivery of a Blade III 4.0. I am lucky and live a mile from the north west coast at Formby, north Liverpool, miles of sand with almost constant onshore westerly winds. I am now able to scud with confidence and wondered what is the best method to get my feet of the ground. I appologise if this question has been asked before. Quote
QUOTH Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 i suggest doing a search for jumping[or pendulum jumps] and see what you can find and then ask specific questions if your still having trouble id offer ehlp but ive only just managed 6 footers Quote
Bobby Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Hi, Like you I've only been in this lark 6 weeks or so. My blade and samurai can pull me down the beach like nobodys business, super long, fast scuds and I'm slowly getting into the jumping game. I was out last night getting sort of 3-4 feet in that loverrlly 10-15mph that was coming in from the Irish Sea. Having read the posts on here - jumping is deffo. a technique that you have to master and practise at - sure the blade will pull you up but you sure need to know what you're doing on the way down. I've had one or 2 crazy landings that could have been ankle twisters. My usual beach is Crosby just up the road from you if you want to meet up sometime, Formby is only 15 minutes from me, just drop me a pm, and we can laugh at each other. No problem you having a go on my 4.9 or Sam if you want to see how they compare to your 4m. Quote
Filthy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Hello Mate. You go on and ask. Here's a top site that I used when I was starting out. Anything you need to know is here for the taking. Have a go at your first jump when the wind is the same as it was when you had your best scud. Know what I mean? Good luck and happy landings!! http://www.kitezone.co.uk/powerkiting/pkamenu.html Quote
