Airborne1599968603
I can vouch for watergate bay - superb. Extreme Academy is there along with the chilled surfers cafe...love this place. Check it out at www.watergatebay.co.uk I feel a tinge of envy coming on...

Longtone
I was at Watergate earlier this week, brilliant beach, but the sand can take a while to dry out so you are better off waiting for low tide before boarding.
32ph
Gwithian is huge but the sand there this last week was a bit softer than at Watergate. Access at both is similar. Low tide to a couple of hours either side of high is useable at both. High tide is slightly earlier at Gwithian. We've been at Watergate for most of the last two weeks and had a brilliant time:) Beware the lifeguards though...while they may do a good job being over-officious with the surfers and swimmers some of them know nothing about kites and care nothing about kite flyers...we were about to start packing up one day when a lifeguard came zooming past on his Quad bike, we were right at the top of the beach, the water was some 100m away from us, but he almost goes out of his way to drive straight over the lines of my friend's Frenzy, we shout "Oi mate, watch the lines", he comes back and shouts "You got a problem?" rather aggressively, we explain that driving over the lines is not a good idea either for the lines or for him if they caught around his wheels/drivetrain, his response "well you shouldn't leave your *ing kites lying around on the beach", he drove off, we complained to his management (the RNLI)...and this from someone who is essentially there as a public servant on a particularly activity-friendly beach but it is an excellent beach...go down the northern end and it will be empty...recommended... Ned1599968590
watergate is the best because when the tide is in there is a mountain boarding track about 50 yards up the road its great!
Dabilsta
I Love Cornwall...! Do what I did, find a nice Cornish girl and have great Cornish holidays forever. Watergate is a fantastic beach. You can use Fistral, too but it gets very busy. Kernow Byz Vyken Db
