col Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 Well if your lucky enough to have flown or own a flexistrike i flew the storm 3 yesterday (on Land at wallop), and if you think the strike was quick wait till you try the storm3. turn rate is very quick, when you loop the kite it almost turns on its axis, no wonder mr Hadlow does wot he does, nice powerful pull throughout the wind window, good build quality etc, colours are predominately black/grey with either red/yellow/blue area on the sail. Bar is about 50cm (12m kite) and nicely finished with a similar system to last years storm 2's. yes it is batoned like the strikes with all the usual finishing touches....12m's and below sizes due end of june/july with larger sizes to follow up to 18.5, a limited number of 12m will be in some shops for demo soon.....watch this space..(i'm smiling) The crow 1 Quote
tom1599968574 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 is it really that good? i purposely raced it a couple of times on my 10mx2. it got stuffed everytime. funniest was when i cruised past and the guy riding it said, 'nah mate, you win, i cant keep up with that'! later on though when the wind picked up, i couldnt hold mine, they were still out on it. does it like a bit more wind? guessing the depower is pretty tidy? spooky Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Hi, Just on a side note, out of interest when did the Storm 2 come out? Does not seem all that long ago to me and are we seeing the start of a new trend as normaly next years kites don't come out till around October (??) (in small sizes) ready for the winter winds, so is it getting earlier?? Oh yes, did look a very sweet, kite speed was very fast as was turning, construction was just as over engineered as the Storm 2's so no worrries with durability/wear. Have fun, Jon The crow 1 Quote
Kite Guru Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Storm 2's came out roughly around June last year got mine in July. Still riding them, still good nick, ride them nearly every week if there is wind. Can't wait to get hold of the storm 3's. Hurry up Flexifoil. Quote
Kite Guru Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 By the way the strikes are awesome use them for teaching. Just what people new to the sport want. Quote

Patman Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I now own the Strike in 17mtr and 13mtr here in Nz with a hope of a 9mtr or 7mtr on it's way soon if funds allow. What size do you guys say, as I have never used a Strike smaller than the 13mtr ??? I was also hoping to get a larger Storm III like around 22mtr or so, what's this that they will only be up to 18.5mtr ? I'm a big guy and wanted that bit extra in lite winds........ ((I'm 118kgs)) BTW Regards Pat www.bayswaterwindsports.co.nz Quote
bigairjunkie Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 pic of the storm 12m from wallop on the Sunday, not much in the way of power increase from my 11m strike but turns very quickly, going to stick with my strikes though:) Quote
