Whats a fair price for one of the following used buggys:

Flexifoil

Vmax

or libre special

i've looked at all the available for sale and wanted posts relating to buggies, and am still not sure whats a good price.

some people selling seem to want silly money, ie over 2/3 of the value of a new buggy (in wich case it seems to be better value to buy a new one, for the differance in price...)

most people buying seem to want to pay buttons (as you'd expect)

As a rough guide would expect to pay:

Std Peter Lynn £150 - 180

Flexifoil - anything from about £200- £250 depending on if it has std or wide wheels and/or std wide axle

Special £200 - £250

Vmax - £250 - £300

Depends on age and more importantly condition. Extras will add to the price; speedo, splasguard, footstraps etc.

I sold a standard PL that had a home made 1.3 m heavy duty stainless steel axle, bigfoots and some serious reinforcing and modifications for Dhs1,000 (GBP166.-). This was about a third of the price I paid for it. I felt that I'd had my money's worth out of it. It was my first buggy that I learned on and wanted the purchaser to get the value for the price he paid. Maybe I could have asked for more but figured it was a fair price and hope the purchaser does get the value from it. We have communicated a few time since I sold it and although I have never met him am looking forward one day to having that opportunity and also hoping we can buggy together. I want my fellow buggiers to to be my friends & not think of me as a tight old sod who is out to screw them.
