kitesurfa Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Not all that impressive IMO, if he had done it with just his kite and not been towed by a boat, then that would have been something worth watching.... Quote
Tim186 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 i dont care if he was or wasnt towed by a boat, that was f**kin awesome, i think i would mess my self if i did that but bet that would give you one hell of an adrenaline rush Quote
akamini Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Check this out, better with broadband http://www.cabaretekiteboarding.com/news/kitetowing/kitetowing_content.html The thing is, why doesnt he just get a paraglider and do it properly? He is basically doing a helicopter... Quote

Adrena1in Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Apologies, I wasn't having a go at Tone...I was actually a bit fed up that someone has once again indicated that tethering is a good idea, or is cool, as I was just expecting it to start another thread of angry comments and -ve reps aplenty. I agree with Tone. flunkie 1 Quote

kitesurfa Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 dont get me wrong Adrena1in, i think it is quite cool, but i have seen that one of that guy in america, who falls and it looks really quite painful. Yes, he almost died after that fall, which happened because of equipment failure. Quote
Tone Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 which is precicly why i said what i said. kitesurfing stuff is not ment for those kind of stresses and forces. Quote
Tom183 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I was more impressed when I didn't know he was being towed - wondering how he could be overpowered enough to get that high. I think boat-towing is right up there with tethered man-lifting - some people have gotten away with it, but it's very easy to get killed even if you think you're doing it right. Kitesurf gear just isn't designed for those kinds of loads... Quote
c_oriordan Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 if you can use parachute lines which arent gonna break and which are fecking hardcore...anyharness can keep you safely in..or its a hazard, so i cant REALLY see any danger when at sea, providing youve got an offshore breeze...and someone to pick you up.
