DaftCookie Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Hiya all, well im off to sunny tenerife this weekend for 2 weeks...wicked... Anyways, i was wondering about 2 things, firstly does anybody know what type of wetsuit i should be using out there,(i think a shorty should be alright) and also does anybody know if i can hire kites out there, cos my 12.5 titan probably going to be a bit big for the windyer days. I should hopefully be taking a load of photos out there so ill try and do a report on the place. Oh one other thing thats good about the place that you might not know is that tenerife is tax free.....i just hope theres some FS stockists out there. Heres hoping. Cheers in advance DC. Quote
Rake Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 for this time of year take a 3mm longy. You wont regret it. Kite hire - nope (maybe different now???). but you can pick up an LEI bargain in D'jo's shop on Cabezo (d'light). As for FS stockists, I'm not 100 % sure but i wouldnt be getting too excited ! It is a great place tho, and I'm sure you will have a good time. El Med has a great chilled out vibe. Quote
DaftCookie Posted March 11, 2004 Author Report Posted March 11, 2004 Cheers for that guys, i cant fooking wait to get out of this crappy winter weve been having here. Ill let you know the latest when i return. Quote
muppetdude1599968590 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 summer suit will gurantee snugness on the strong wind days but a shortie is fine all year round given constant water temp as for kite bargains av to disagree from what ive seen over the years - other than flogged out second hand kit which trust me will av seen some use in el med! prices are more than england given the weaker pound at the moment im out 3 weeks sunday for fortnight and will be taking shortie only and expect to use the 12 most days and 9 - light wind days = 16 metres expect minumum 7/14 days on the water - less then ur unlucky very! best point of contact is frankie in cabezo shop - or "william" in the kiteshop half way up the boardwalk for hire information if you can stay upwind ull have no problems just stay up at the harbour wall for the lumps and boost huge look out for simon and jane who live out there theyll tell u all u need to know not sure if mark shinn is in town but do go to cabezo and watch him or abel or mark blueflame rip - simon can only do board off triple spin kite loop stuff - he cant even handle pass yet..........so he modestly tells me!!!!!!!!!!! seriously it inspiiring to watch and sail amongst stay safe - my second home el med!
