junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 never tried this, is it any good and is there anywhere that you can do this cos i spect you get alot of speed so you need lots of space, it has to be tarmac, so finding sites must be hard, grass can't be good, you'll sink in even if it's moderatly wet Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 i used normal skates today well i suppose when i fell over i didnt break anything cos im ony 13 [sorry oldies ] greet wid 1.5 mark 1 pred Quote

junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 it was boggy on grass and you still got speed? Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 yaeh but lean back cos other wise you do a flip like i found out the hard way Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 recreational, only special equipment is a kite, you run and jump, really need high speed wind thou, you sould of tried it today, hopefully wind will be as strong tomorrow, forget your skates take some good trainers, best to try this on grass first tho, you land wrong and your ankles gone, but imagine jumping 7 mtrs high (my record) with nothing under you, amzing, plus it's possible to get better air as theres nthing weighing you down, Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 yaeh i fly rec all time why didnt u say sod the abriviations the most i got is 10 feet wid my 3.4 duno on my dads libres about 15 feet not high but still fun like my blades and board +buggy alot though Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 why do u think my signiture says jump into the sky and dont fall down cos it hurts Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 if you haven't got more than 4 mtrs you haven't flown rec, but you really need to practice loads and loads to get good, this is my favorite type of kiting, i can use any of my kites for this, if you go out tommorrow spend at least 3 hours doing this cos you're on half term aren't you, then afterwards just before you go home try it just once or twice, i can almost guarantee it that you'l get at least a little bit better, if you really want it, i used to be crap at rec, somebody recommended this to me, after 4 days i was hitting 5mtr airs almost everytime Quote
rasga Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 maybe im dumb but "rec" flying just seems to be kite jumping; good old fun and ive jumped with all my kites bar a pro 8; from 2-12M Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 rec dunt mean youv'e got to get 4 mtrs or above it means flying with no buggy, board, blades Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 yaeh but your a show off rasga Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 yeh you don't have to go above 4mtrs but you're not really doing rec until you're that high or higher, it's an expression. rasga yes it is just kite jumping, when you hit 12mtrs was that off something or straight off the ground and how fast was the wind? and how big was the kite? Quote
kiting mad Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 rasga says that but ........... Quote
