KR1B2 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 As has been mentioned before but if something fails whilst using it fo the purpose its designed for its worth getting trading standards involved. Have a look at this link, its for Scotland http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=ADV0043-0100.txt Was a bit scared to read that when lines break they can whip back and cut you, have I read that correct or did you fall over? PeteMan Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Ended up on me ar*e on Sunday. My right main line snaped on 1.5 bullet 1cm from sleeving. Bought kite second hand and when inspected / flown for the first time all was well. Was like new, only recreational flying at the time. was the second time out, Ozone lines on the way. Oh well there you go Quote
rasga Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Yeah as to trading standards if people were using the kite in high winds then flexifoil would be covered i'm sure; as they do state an upper wind strength for their lines off the top of my head i think they are only 300Lb and rated up to 15Mph, and i'm sure that they have snapped when people have been using them as a high wind kite! Dr-Manic Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 thats probably why mine snapped . wouldnt 500lb lines be to heavy for a small kite ? or am i just being a stoopid noob Quote
MadAndy71 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 In light winds yes but take it above the recommended 15, you will be fine with a heavier line set. Quote

Got the ozone lines for it as seems to be the recommended route to take, you got your line probs sorted Quote
Deviant Posted January 22, 2004 Author Report Posted January 22, 2004 Still no lines for the bullet but maybe up cleeve on sun, What time you going up? Quote
bitethebullet Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Going up about midday, earlier if poss. I got a spare set of lines for 2.5 bullet i can lone out I,ll bring em along but their only 135kgs which is alright most of time but not really up to extreme usage;) Cant you put the lines from your g.fs blade on it ,they should have a higher rating ,then upgrade the blade lines ,kill two birds with one stone so to speak:) My missus is wanting to come as well so i hope its not too damn gusty ,she needs to get some confidence back after that spill:( Mind you i think i,d like low winds as well ,that 6.6 looks a beast especially led out on living room floor:cool: Quote
