Just a quick qustion, Has anyone had trouble with bullet lines snapping? I brought a 2.5 for the missus and she`s bin using it in her buggy until the other day when i decided to have a go. The lines snapped under very little load leaving me with a bloodied face. Has anyone else had these sort of problems?

i had those lines snap on me before, wasnt impressed. i not fly with 180kg ozone lines and they're just so much better. worth the extra as you know they're not going to snap unless you do something very silly. the bullet lines are 300lb and i can see that kind of load being reached fairly easily.

I was thinkin bout a set of ozone lines but so skint after crimbo!

Might have to wait a while and stick to the 4m bladeII for a while! The trouble is the blade scares the missus in good wind!

get a 2 line set and use them as the main lines, put the old power lines on the brakes. that way you'll have a really strong line setup. i did roughly the same by buying a 4 pack of 360's and splitting them onto my blades a while ago. sure made me feel more confident as im a bit dubious about 300lb lines for power lines now, have one break on you and it shakes your confidence.

My confidence is ok just p****d off i`ve only flown the kite 3 times and now i`m spending more money on it. I`m really surprised they snapped after such little usage, I`ve had the same 300lb lines on my blade for over a year and they`re not even starting to look warn.

did it snap at the sleeving or somewhere down the line. mine snapped down the line (about a 1/3 of the way) but if its at the sleeving then you can adjust it. try calling flexi as they might be feeling nice and replace it as you've only flown it a couple of times.

Snapped right in the middle and came back and caught me across the cheek leaving a nice 2 inch cut!! It stang like hell for ages! Might consider wearing some sort of goggle when buggying in future cause i`m sure if it had caught my eye could have really done some damage, or as my mother used to tell me You`ll have someones eye out with that" Good old mum!!

if you're buggying at the beach then goggles are always a good idea as lots of sand and salt gets kicked into your eyes. give flexi a buzz and if they dont replace them (put your nicest voice on of course) then get some ozones, you wont go wrong there....

Just spoken to flexi and they`re not going to replace them. Think i`ll go with some ozones when i`ve got a bit more cash to spend!

I`m gonna have to buy a complete set though cause when they snapped they got into such a mess i don`t think it`s humanly possible to untangle them, If anyone is bored PM your address and i`ll post them to you!!

humm, think that may actually be something for me to do in my current lay up (or at least a good challenge). you'll need to compensate for the fact that ozone lines are all equal length and the loops are sown in so you'll need to adjust on your brake bridal and handles until you find the right tune for it (wont take you long) and when you've done it the ozones never stretch so it'll never have to be adjusted :)

Had the line snap on me on the 1.5 Bullet in the same place: HOWEVER I had removed them and set them up to the same length again, and put them on back to front - brake lines to power and vis-versa. The power lines, (which were actually the brake lines), then snapped in a good wind. When I investigated I realised my error...

FYI the break lines on the Bullet have a white speckle in the sheaths at either end, whilst the power line sheaths are solid colour. Also the power line is slightly thicker: Hindsight is wonderful!!!

Mine snapped but I was out in winds with a pilot and buggy weight on the end that I guess flexi wouldn't call normal use.

My flexi 500's have never caused me a problem like my 180 ozones have never caused me a problem.

They were definatly the right way round. I never undo them Just wrap them round the handles. Maybe that is what caused them to break but i`ve been doing my blade lines like that for over a year now and never had any problems.

Had mine go on my 3.5 same place and ended up with the same mass of tangled lines! went for the ozone ( in my mind upgrade) set up and the difference is much much better!! seems more responsive to pilot input and to fly sweeter!! might not be the case but its how it feels to me! :D

I have a friend who snapped the lines on his 3.5 Bullet 1st time out.He complained to the shop it came from who passed the problem up to Flexifoil who supplied a new set of heavier lines. So i would suggest complaining to flexifoil

I have had just the same problem as everyone else in this thread except it has happened 3 times, once on my 2.5 and twice on my 3.5. I have since replaced the lines on the 2.5 wit ozone ones and will change the other set soon, each time the line has snapped just inside the sleeving, I was using the kites with my buggy and THINK that the wind was quite light at the time. Hopefully Flexifoil read their own forums and can investigate this "common" problem

oh well

same sh!t happened to me lucky i had the crash hat on as i fell back hard. My little bullet is nearly new and only used for static flying. There is another thread stating the same thing The LINES SNAPPING IN THE SLEEVE . I have emailed flexi about this as it seems quite common . Depending on what they say i shall take the lines from my blade and putthem on the bullet. I shall also get some ozone lines for my blade .

I REALY DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN MID AIR

Seems to be a common problem. I`ve spoken to flexi and they won`t replace the lines because apparently "it might of been a shell on the beach that damaged them when unpacking"Funny seeing as i`ve flown it three times and only in short grass!! Looks like some ozone lines are on the way then!

Keep them M8 when you see me throw them at me I'll sort them for you and re sleeeve them, no problem, I enjoy a challenge why do think I got married PMSL :D :D :D :D

Out of interest do all the bullets that have failed have the linesets as supplied that have that little tag on the sleeving to help remove the lines? Have they failed on the sewn ends or knotted end?

Could cause some weakness if not done correctly. I know Ozone lines are sleeved and stiched with no adverse effect though

Replaced all my lines for Ozone ones! bit expensive but in my mind well worth every penny!! has anybody found the Ozone lines just seem better all round? i parapack find it a lot quicker and easy to do! (just got to have the nerve to try it) but the Ozone lines seem to pack better? don't tangle and seem well, just better! maybe its me? they seem to have a sort of coating on them? don't know? its now just a pleasure to unpack rather than dreading what is going to come out of the bag!! :D
