dubvanman Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I would not swap my silver reef for the french version. I like the plush flex and its nice and blue. Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Bob, I checked your link....upahill kites....the silver reef is £148...unless i missed a special offer. Thanks DC. You did bro. Gotta be on the ball ! Think that price was for the last of the 03 boards. £148 is for the new 04 ones. Give them a bell though. You never know ? Bob. Quote
Natz Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Just to let you know, a couple of weeks ago, my limited edition air-s went under a car... and out the other side... let rip an enormous squeak as the car wheel went over the wheel... and is still alive!!! They're tough little blighters! ...and they rok! Quote
Lofty Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Having Ridden both i would say the silver reef . Some say the Air s Is lighter (sorry not true ) the silver reef is actually lighter (this is without wheels) but with the 9 inch primos and the heavy hubs it comes in about 10 grammes heavier put lighter hubs like rockstars and primo alphas and it will be a whopping 15 grammes lighter (according to my bathroom scale anyway ) the silver reef is a more comfortable ride and the bigger tires will eat much rougher terrain and allow you to accelerate a lot faster than an air-s . however i have recently changed the bigger tires in favour of smaller ones as when slightly overpowered there was a tendancy to tip over onto the two toeside wheels , not fun at 20mph ! i think this was due to a higher centre of gravity from the larger wheels . as the alphas i have now are much better in this respect . the air-s feels a lot more solid and rigid to ride and the silver reef is a bit more bouncey and forgiving . think of the air-s as a saloon car with a big engine and a silver reef as a 4x4 . depends what you prefer . both great boards though and not much between them other than riding style preferance . hope that helps Quote
