i dont want to let too much out, but for my gcse school project i decided to make one. and i wondered if i could make a few and sell them on so i asked on these forums about an hour ago, as you already know. once the circuit board has been made it takes about 2+ hours to solder all the electronics to it, alter the setting so it reads the wind correctly and then a few hours to make the casing, even more for ur multi colour one i recon lol. but if i could sell 10 i would be extremely happy as its a bit of pocket money for me :D

but all of the preperation work, research, wind ranges, calculations etc has taken me just under a year now.

i was going to look at a type of box but that would cost more money :(, what do you think?

lol i hope he receeved a slap. i will go as fast as i can to get the first lot made. i have the prototype circuit next to me now, it works fine. just the casing wasnt taken out the mold last week and i couldnt be assed to fit it lol. added feature-the wind cups will be removeable so that they dont snap of in your kite bag lol

one thing you might think about is getting a little pouch to put it in, oherwise when you take the wind-cups off you might loose then, the pouch doesn't have to be fancy, mabey a little string bag like you used to get with washing powder tab thingys

no, its all one colour, you choose. the L.E.D's are set up so that each one represents 3mph. when the wind is 3mph or under one L.E.D will light. when it goes 3mph to 6mph another will light etc. but the way ive set it up, the slightest change in mph will be detected so it is very acurate by about 1.5mph. lol its hard to explain but i have it all in my folder. i will put all things like this into the instructions. an L.E.D screen alone for this costs £4.25, so really it wont differ from any professional ones on the market if i used one of these as the price would be greately rised. my aim was to provide a wind speed counter which is acurate at a cheap price.
