Snake Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 herb's pm lardyb think he sells them £5 a set Quote
MadAndy71 Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 £5 a set. A set for a wheel? That would be a good price but if you mean for all 3 corners!! It would be a very very good price. Quote
lardyb Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 I'm now selling them at the price I bought them at as it wasn't a good Idea to buy that many in the first place. ok so £2 a bearing (only got 20mm ones left) so a set for a cameleon would be £12. Gunna be down pendine this weekend if anyone wants some. Quote
jbingham Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Lardyb, I'll have a set of 6 for £12 from you for my libre bigfeet. You down pendine 21st - 23rd? Quote
herbs Posted November 10, 2003 Author Report Posted November 10, 2003 nice one lardyb i`ll c ya on the beach saturday m8 (wot an excuse ,i`m just going to some bearings honey i wont be long) Quote
choccy Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 BSL...£5.29 each top quality with marine grease added to the equation and then they last longer. Quote
lardyb Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 these are top quality ones and if you want marine grease for them come and buy them on the beach and you can have some of mine. can't say fairer than that Quote
carlos Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Most expensive bearing supplier you can buy from!!! Try Anti Friction Components or EW Bearings or Wyco Bearings or LardyB's Bearings but not BSL!!! Hey Choccy...marine grease is awesome for salt water but actual sand and salt water...good combination...marine grease not much good... BadDad washes his buggies with water on return from the beach and then sprays the bearings with WD40 which is a good idea...I spray mine with GT80 teflon normally used on cycle chains and will probably go through 2 sets of bearings a year... Total bearing bill of about £9 twice a year as opposed to a possible £32 once a year using BSL top quality bearings... LardyB's bearing are the same make I use only he pays more for his... Quote
mashedup mother Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 you sound like a nice man carlos, are you spanish by any chance Quote
carlos Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 The guys will start talking about us out loud... I will get shed loads of abuse... I can hear the tin roof's rattling... Look out for the barrage!!! Quote
choccy Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Hey Carlos just because i bought some bearings from BSL theres no need to tell me to get a life. Are you "Shouting spite" or "Spouting shi#te". I do have a life actually,a beautiful wife, a wonderful son and a nice house, steady job,and i can make a kite. Cheers Choccy:mad: Quote
whiz Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 oooooer........calm down chaps, its only bearins. Gotta agree with chocs though and he does make some damn fine kites. aer8.....nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
carlos Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Freedom of speech Choccy...no offence meant... I wasn't telling you to get a life I was just pointing out that BSL: is the most expensive bearing supplier one can buy from... How do I know because I am a qualified aero engineer and have bought many bearings in my days and know that the manufacturer is the same but the supplier differs and so does the profit margin... I got in touch with BSL...EW Bearings and Anti Friction this evening for prices on marine grade bearings to suit Libre 20mm... BSL came back with £9.75 less 45%...EW Bearings the same bearing £8.15 less 45% and Anti Friction £7.65 less 45%... Same bearing...three different suppliers and over a pound difference per bearing... And I too have a life...a beautiful woman...a gorgeous house...a steady job...some close friends that I buggy with and I too can make a kite... But as I said no offence meant... Quote
lardyb Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Oh god carlos is off again quick someone stick him in his buggy and put a kite in his hands so he can't type!!!!!!
