lardyb Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I use marine grease (waterproof stuff for boat trailers) from any deceint chandlers. The only problem with it is that it reeks. I mean this sh1te stinks. seems to work though and as soon as the bearing covers are back on the smell isn't as bad Quote
srod Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 check the guide on kiteatb.co.uk although I just pack them with standard lithium based bearing grease, not the and of the oil that joeschmoe recommends. Although in conjunction with stripping the bearings down now and again I have found that rinsing your bearings with fresh water and a quick spray with a light oil to drive off moisture after a session at the beach does wonders for prolonging bearing life.
