Agger Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I have read these comments before and thought, well they lift my lardy 15 stone, even the 2.5 does, so why the no lift comments. I can only assume it's because most people are using them for buggying and not static flying, I do not own a Bullet, I prefer Ozone quality, BUT I have heard the same said about the Razor, it does'nt lift B0LL0X it does when flown static. Strange really as these comments are coming from everywhere, seasoned flyers and those new to the sport / hobby. :D :D Quote

Had a 4m out last night in about 15-20mph of wind and it was lifting me all over the place (even took me off my feet when it was parked at the zenith). Very floaty landings as well for a "small" kite. Quote

Longtone Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I think my comment would be bullets don't lift as much as (say) a blade, especially in a buggy, never had an OBE with a bullet, but blades have lifted me out on the corners a couple of times. Also the bullet wouldn't be my choice as a jumping kite, as the landings are pretty nasty, so when newbies say what kite do I want for jumping? I would steer them away from a bullet. Quote

rjw Posted October 9, 2003 Author Report Posted October 9, 2003 second all of the above as well guys, it was blowing pretty hard, or rather gusting pretty hard. Lone Wolf and myself both had 4.9 B3's with us and there was no way they were ever coming out, that would have been suicidal. the lift on the bullet is pretty minimal, relative to a blade or something, but it is a great kite to fly when there is to much wind for anything else ithink, it won't overfly you much and it won't lift you without warning. rjw Quote

Mr J Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Just to echo what was just said...all kites lift. Some (like bullets) are designed to minimise lift and enhance pull, but no kite has no lift. If they had no lift they wouldn't fly as they wouldn't support their own weight in the air. Quote
buster boy Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Hi i had my 3.0m buster out on tuesday in 20mph winds with higher gusts pass how strong and like said even when parked at zenith it lifted me straight up a couple of foot can do alsorts with it and was a bargain shame the same day i was running with it and tore my ligaments in my ankle ouch nice purple foot time off work and no flying bagger.have fun fly safe Quote

THE SECOND IT WENT UP I FLEW OUT THE WATER AND ABOUT 2M IN THE AIR IT THEN DRAGGED ME ALONG THE WATER FACE DOWN FOR ABOUT 20M WHEN IT CRASHED INTO THE WATER LEAVING ME HALF DROWNED BUT IN A HIGH. I WAS LUCKY IN A WAY, MY LEGS MISSED A COUPLE OF WERY SHARP REEFS. Quote
