lazydog Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I'm pretty new to kitesurfing so please forgive my ignorance! I've got an Airrush Square One and it has a 5th fin in the middle of the board (on the heal side). I was wondering what advantage it gives and how would it change the handling of my board if I took it off. Thanks Quote
npeac Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 as your just learning leave it on. it gives you more grip before you are using the rail. it will help you to stand up easier, go up wind better and will slow you down a touch. the only reason to take it off is if you want that extra smidgen of speed. lazydog Posted September 26, 2003 Author Report Posted September 26, 2003 So it's a bit like stabilisers on a bike! Quote
Rake Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 No not at all. it helps you go upwind, not stay on the board : ))) incidently it also slows the speed of the b oard too. Bored and no wind. What to do ? Quote
