tinsley Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 hey people - we have 2 x land boards, and numerous kites (from 2.5 to 4.9 bullet and blades) - but have failed with great amusement at going further than about 5 meters before being pulled off the board, or the kite just didn't seem to pull. anyone have any tips on how you start to kite board..? or know of an instructor or shcool in the surrey area... look farward to your reponses toby:confused: Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Originally posted by tinsley have failed with great amusement at going further than about 5 meters before being pulled off the board the question is which way, if forward lean back more and try to keep kite away from centre of window, or too much wind for kite, or you're carved too much upwind so even at the edge of the window the kite is pulling you at right angkles to the board.. if you cannot get moving work the kite (fly it up and down window instead of parking) get bigger kite or get more wind (yesterday i could board with either my blade or devil, but i had too practise technique and work the devil when the blade would just cruise me along nicely) 5m is good to start, until about a week ago thats all i could do. other advice get used to riding kite and board seperately as then you need not think of many things at once when boarding. as hoolyman sez, get a bash hat, pads, and get out there and practice practice practice. happy flying Quote
