Benji11 Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I have just bought a flexifoil erazor and it was supplied with 40m 90kg lines. The line just feel too long. I have only been out i light winds so it might feel a bit more connected with stronger winds. So how long should your lines be for a Delta kite? Quote
BigDavey Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 40m is a bit long (for me anyways) - I've got a 35m set I'd use for precision flying (Tramontana) My 'trick' flying is on 25m ,20m or even 15m lines - all depends on the winds & how I'm feeling at the time. You shoould find the Erazor a bit less spongy on the lines as the winds pick up - then it pulls HF Quote
HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I have found the Erazor is better and a lot more responsive in stronger winds then in low winds (to be honest its pretty naff in low winds) - i fly mine on 40m lines with no problems !!! and i am with BigDavey on the " as the winds pick up - then it pulls " side of things Quote
Benji11 Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 Thanks for your thoughts. I went out with it last night in a little stronger wind and it responded alot better. Which kite would you sat is good for low winds ? Quote
HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Benji11 Not to sure on low wind stunt kites - have you looked at some of the other threads in the 'sport kiting forum' as there are a few low wind threads which have some low wind kites mentioned and might give you an idea on what to look out for !!! Also - what wind ranges would you need... For example the HQ Breeze is a great lightwind kite - Needs just a breath and can cope up to 12 mph. Capable of a lot of tricks, but given that it's an UL it's not that friendly toward lateral rolls (flic-flacs, turtle recovery) - It's only about £80 so represents good value... I've a penchant toward Benson kites (Gemin, Outerspace etc) and the new Gemini UL is a really sweet kite - £170 though Good winds! Quote
Benji11 Posted September 9, 2003 Author Report Posted September 9, 2003 Good stuff. I will have a look around after i have had chance to play with the erazor for a while. Thanks for your help. Quote
desciple Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Mental kite in strong winds with poop loads of pull. I use it in the buggy for a laugh on really long 40m (I think) lines. We did kill it on Sunday though so awaiting a new spine. Quote
HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Alright desciple LOL - another damaged kite then !!! Quote
desciple Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Yeap Kite Nut another dead one but heres the good news. After wetting myself at the fun to be had from a Revolution I have ordered a Blast form the States (saved over £100) and a Prism Adrenalin and a Jam Session and a Benson Gemini so I feel quite Kited up LOL (and skint beyond belief!) Still waiting for the Outback to be returned from Dave at Spirit of Air though! Yippee!!!! Quote
