boywonder Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Right ok so ive been going down hills and stuff on a mountain board for ages now, but in the last couple of months ive gone out kiting with my mates and now have a bullet 3.5 and a blade 4.9. Ive been in a mates buggy quite a bit now and im getting reasonably good at moving around and turns and stuff and coming back up wind. The trouble is that when i try and do this with my mountain board, i can kinda ride across the wind, but when i come to turn i always end up kinda flying with the handles almost behind my back. am i just being stupid or can you actually do this with practice?ive tried just riding back fakie and that kinda works but im not sure if im doing it right. any hints on how to ride your board would be cool. cheers boywonder Quote
wakeupandfly Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 riding with your hands behind your back facing away from the kite is called riding toeside (your weight will be on your toes) it is much easier to ride back switch or fakie (same thing, different word) Tom Quote
Ross1599968583 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I have wondered this for a while... ...is it not possible to pull a jump whilst riding toeside, do a 180 spin and land riding heelside? Quote
srod Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 yes that's possible. or your could slide it round. or pivot on the front wheel. depends what kind of style you're going for or what's easiest or most fun at the time... Quote
jamie828 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 all three of those examples from srod look and feel really good when your doing them Quote
