Guest Big Stu Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 This may be obvious, but could someone please explain the difference between the libre v-max seat and that of the full race seat. Reason been i have just about built my own buggy and am looking for a good seat to go along with it, and any advise of where the above could be purchased would be much appreciated Cheers Stu Quote
jbingham Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Not much as far as i know, but the fullrace i sat in was alot wider than my v-max, but i think thats a frame issue. Quote
anc Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 I'm making a buggy too. but a factory made seat is not an option. can anyone help me to design a good seat? http://www.zone.ee/popwar/bagi.jpg?2 http://www.zone.ee/popwar/bagi2.jpg?2 I thought of making a seat out of seatbelts and add a back support made out of some plastic and cloth(just like the flexifoil new buggy has). any ideas? HD462 Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Nice looking buggy, what size wheels did u use, they look nice and chunky? For my seat I'd thought of making a criss-cross netting pattern like you said. But found as easier alternative in modifying one of those green folding garden chairs you see in the shops fairly cheap. You'd need some sort of support across the back to mount it (could even be some strong cord from one rail to the other), then I used cord to let it hang in the frame. I actually have it a bit lower now than on that pic below. You can alter the height by just lengthening the cord it hangs on, and it finds it's own level. It's very comfy, especially with the padded rail running under the seat back. I've since covered the padding in black tape too to give it a bit more protection. Pic below: Quote
jordi Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 the fullrace seat has some extra padding on the sides, a little pocket on the back (for example linewinders) and it's supposed to be a little stronger, also you can choose out of different sizes. Quote
anc Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 my buggy has I think 15x6 wheels. steel. wit bearings and all so it should run pretty well. any else ideas what should I do before I color it(of course I will kill the rust and so on)? and I have no idea what I´ll use for the footpeg ends. I want plastic ends like some buggies have. I don't really like the one where you bend the ends up. looks too cheap or something. the flexifoil buggy footpegs are VERY good. I wanted something like them on my buggy too but I didn't find any tube that was bent like this(I can't bend tubes at home so I have to find some, like bicycles or something). and the tubes I used for the frame are the ones that are used under cars where the fumes come out(I couldn't remembre the word:p ). so any ideas for the pegs or anything else? Ralphy Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 ANC, were did ya get those wheels/tyres from? + how much did they cost, the'd be grand 4 the buggy im building. Cheers James Quote
anc Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 I got them from this place called Starco or Scandinavian Tyre and Rim Company . They sell wheels and tyres and stuff. you would never belive how many different tyres/wheels they have. The 3 of them including everything(wheels, tyres, bearings and so on) cost me a bit over $100. so very cheap compared to flexifoil ones. search the net for starco and maybe you find them. I don't remembre the url. Quote

Hi Anc, The Flexifoil footpegs are bent up at the ends. I like them bent as it helps to stop your feet sliding off them. I guess you mean you used car exhaust pipe for the frame then (do you think that's strong enough?). I found the company for the wheels you mentioned, is this it: Starco Europe When you say your wheels are 15x6 is that the tyre size, or just the wheel size. and in inches or cm? Thanks Quote
anc Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 the tyres are 15 inches in diameter and 6 inches wide. if I remember correctly. and the pipe is very strong. Quote
