Just been for a quick fly down sutton park way. Had to battle in because of 6 police cars for some reson!

so I get me blade out, and start having a fly. Nice wind, getting a bit gusty now and again. I think it's alright, because I was down dunstable downs last w/end, and I was doing some nice jumps...

well, not enough steady wind for any jumps. I was preparing for another attempt, when the wind suddenly guested and blew me off my feet, a couple of feet in the air and about 10 foot along! Managed to get the kite under some control, and started scudding along for about 20-30 feet. I thought I had it, then another gust, more powerfull. ended up flying for mile.. seemed about 6ft in the air!.. had to ditch the kite into some reeds in the middle of the park, after sliding 20 foot on my leg.

I never knew you could get grass burns!

so todays lesson? be carefull when the wind's gusting. Be prepared!

got to be careful of those gusts, catch you out and drop you down!

and grass burns, im sure everyones had a few of those, i've had them elbows and knees, lovely!

got my first "injury" for a while a few days a go boarding in eastern park in geelong (VIC), and when doing a pendulum style baord jump it went wrong,

ended up kicking board off and then landing backdown on the grass getting dragged and flipping to by front, luckily i only got some grazes on my lower back. . bloody killed the next day when i had by stupidly big rucksack on, ,grr!

Yeah, the gusts are bad.

Back at dunstable downs, the wind is really steady, a constant stream. I was managing to get a few jumps of a couple of feet, all under (I think) perfect control.

at least my legs have stopped aching!

The first thing I did after I wiped out - made sure I could wiggle my toes. Hopefully that means no broken legs ;)
