Guest Noz Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 i just got a Flexdeck an Air-s (new-model ) up at washington last weekend but unfortunately was unable to try either of them.. I'm hoping i get a chance down at brighton this weekend so fingers crossed. an because i'm lazy an don't wanna start a nu thread.... What do u folks think of the goldwing traction kite? all my tk's are old an i need a nu 1... ne suggestions? (nb. if u mention the BIII u will get an almighty slap cuz i just can't afford 1 ) Quote
fly_boy Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I have a 3.6 Gold Wing. And I have nothing bad to say about it really. Not an amazing amount of lift but very easy to fly, very responsive and will basically go where you point it. And have boarded in about 5-10 mph winds with it. But better performance in 10+. Quote
fly_boy Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 See http://www.enrgy.biz Theres not a great deal of information on the web site. Quote
srod Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 fair enough. but how on earth does this relate to the Airdeck/Air -S debate???????? Quote
fly_boy Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Too lazy to start a new thread... Bad order I know but hey..... Quote
nobby Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 been using an air-s for a few months now, no complaints. learned to ride it on the local dunes, then off to the beach with the bullet. good board. would'nt fancy the flexi for off road use - this limits your fun if the wind aint good. Quote
fly_boy Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 How is the Air -S on sand, I have only ridden mine on grass at the moment, does the sand have to be hard packed or just firm or how about soft sand ????? Quote
nobby Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 if the sand is soft, ya jst sink / plough into it. if youre gonna kiteboard on the beach, a hard packed one is the way forward. fitting larger wheels may help the cause, or wider... Quote
fly_boy Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Ta Nobby, I was out again last night in about 10 -12 mph winds and got some speed up.. Easier going right than left strangely but I lead with my right foot when snowboarding so understandable I suppose. Any tips on how to go upwind anyone ?????? Quote
nobby Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 try a bit more wind, just steer. sorta like this ish. Quote
