photek1000 Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Well I'm off next week and will be spending most my time in the Bristol area, and I have had a look at some of the older Bristol threads to see if I can get up to date on the Downs thing. What I need to know is whats the current situation with flying and buggying on the Downs at the moment, and if it is still not a good idea to go. Anyway where's good at the moment, days and evenings. Cheers Simon. Quote
Agger Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Flying static is OK, buggying boarding or whatever else is banned. :p Quote
rayens Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 A number of people buggy up on the top of Ashton Court in the evenings Quote
photek1000 Posted July 4, 2003 Author Report Posted July 4, 2003 Is Ashton Court ok in the daytime for buggying, I assume you mean up a the top by the pitch and putt course. Anywhere else I could go daytimes, I will at my parents in Westbury-on-Trym, but can drive all over if there's buggying to be had. Whats weston like, I heard that you can only use part of it and it's controlled by one of the buggy organisations. Cheers Simon. Quote
Agger Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Weston is OK at Uphill, you really need to speak to a club rep from Wind & Wheels or give Dom a ring in UFO the local kite shop. You could always go elsewhere Quote
photek1000 Posted July 4, 2003 Author Report Posted July 4, 2003 Anywhere elsewhere you could reccomend. Looking for some good buggy sessions after only a couple in the last month, damn work getting in the way of my fun time....... Quote
rayens Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Uphill at Weston will be the best. Dedicated area just cheque the tides Quote
jocook Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 £5 to buggy at Uphill and proof of insurance Quote
DrJonno Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 £5 - thats actually membership of the local club. As far as I'm aware membership is not compulsory. Insurance, however, is another matter. Jon Quote
