The top end is down to your skills. I think the best advice is find your own limits carefully and then build them up gradually. Hope this helps a little. el nino Posted June 15, 2003 Report Share Posted June 15, 2003 Hi, I kitesurf with my Blade II 6.4m setup on a bar with 3-lines(brakes for emergency) and Flexifoil CrossOver kit(for fast power turns). I am 78kg and use 169cm Litewave board. I can do easily waterstarts/kitesurf with about 12mph. With 12mph-18mph very smooth ride + good jumps. With less 12mph ,hard to go upwind. I need to fly the kite in an 8 and change direction all the time. Also, to do waterstarts I need to dive a lot the kite. I reckon for a 4.9m the min usable wind would be about 15mph.
