I'm new to the game but love flying my super 10.

I want to get something with a bit more kick!

I eventually want to get into landboarding and then maybe surfing if I can afford the kit.

Do you think the bullet 3.5 or blade 3m would be a good next step?

appreciate some help cos I don't want to wast the little money I have!

Cheers

Well, Im not too experienced with all of this either my first, and still only, kite is a 3m firebee but I have flown the bullit and all I can say is that it flys like a dream, I really liked it. I only got to fly a 2.5m version but it was so easy to handle, If I could afford one I would deffinatly go for it.

On the other hand I havent had the chance to fly the other so I am kinda looking at it through rose tinted specs. All I can say is that the bullit is good, very.

Hope that helps.

Hey Danny G...

This seems to be a big question at the moment - Bullet or blade. Well, for what you want to do (boarding etc) it would definately be the blade, there's no question about it. The bullet as a kite was specifically designed for buggying, which means that flexi made sure that it did not have massive lift (no jumping). In other words it would be a bad choice for boarding, and definately kitesurfing (although I suggest that if you DO intend to use the blade for kitesurfing you eliminate all pilot errors first, i.e. get really good with it and made sure you wont crash it, since it's not a water-relaunchable kite ;) ) I've been kitesurfing on blades for ages though, and they really are excellent all-rounder kites! Good on the water and excellent on land... Should you buy a blade? Go for it!!! You will love it after the super 10....

You guys are confusing the f**k out of me!

Which ever one i buy is it worth getting it with a bar as opposed to handles?

What is the advantage of a bar?

Sorry for being so ignorant.

If you are after boarding with this kite and not buggying then go for the blade the extra lift is an advantage on the board. You can board with both but in my opinion the blade is the better boarding kite of the two, the extra lift gives you something to lean back against and is a great help for balance.

Handles or bar? tricky question the main advantage of a bar is the ability to fly one handed so you can do impressive tricks such as board grabs etc. However there is a trade off as the brakes will either be non existant (2line flying) or have a much reduced effectiveness (3 line bar).

If it was me I would start off with the handles and learn with those keeping maximum controlability of the kite, then see if you can try other kites on a bar before making your mind up whether to change to a bar or not when you have more experience of flying what can be a very powerful kite, depending on wind !!!!

just my 2pence worth but i do fly both of the kites you are talking about.

I also wanted to get in to boarding and after advice from the forums ordered a Blll 4.9 and a flexideck ( progressed from a stack of pro 8's ).

Due to the delayed release of the Bllls my dealer let me play with a Bullet 3.5 for a few weekends. It is a lovely kite - easy to control on a bar, very stable, some lift and lots of pull. I wondered if I had made the correct kite choice. I tried boarding with the bullet with little sucess ( this may have been me and not the kite ).

My Blade arrived on Thursday and although it has only been flown in light winds I know I made the correct choice.

It is very manoverable, turns on its own axis, very forgiving, very smooth power delivery, very happy.

Flying on handles at present as the bars for the Bllls are not available yet, but I think handles are easier to learn with.

Now I need some wind to try the blade with the board
