Guest wombat
Knowing that i like kites (blades) my girlfriend recently bought me a kite. I know my way round foils and the like, but know little about stunt kites, which is what she bought me. We flown it once and it was fairly quick and steerable, but would it be any good if i wanted to try and do proper tricks on it, or should i leave it my cupboard. i'm assuming you get what you pay for...... It's a 'cyclone 150 GS' made by 'gûnther airsport'? Whilst i'm fearing the worst, i'd appreciate being let down gently guys....... cheers Dan
Furry Ginger One
That was my first kite from Great Yarmouth about 4 years ago. You will be lucky to get many tricks out of it but you should be able to axel and turtle it ok. I did fly it in some silly winds and it stood up to quite a few "heavy" landings. HD462
We've got the Airsport (by Gunther) Mercury 135GX, same sort of thing just a bit smaller. I wouldn't say it's a kids 'toy' kite. But more of a starter kite, it was our first 'proper' kite. Pretty strongly built and has flown in some strong wind. Good kites, but the metal quick releases on the lines tend to get pulled open in stong winds. Better to take them off and just larkshead the line to the bridle.
