Guest CloudBurst Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hi again all. I'm still looking at getting my first deck. As I say I come from a stunt kiting background. 3 quick questions: 1) Is the Flexifoil Airdeck a good board for a beginner. There are no hills around here besides small grassy ones so I'm not planning on doing Down Hill on it. I'm very light and I want a board that can jump, and turn easily... 2) EggShocks, The Flexifoil Airdeck doesn't have them ... right ? Would i be missing anything by not having them? 3) Bearing in mind I'm very light, and I'm new to power kiting what sized blade 3 do you think I should get? (I'm getting a blade 3 100%). I've been looking a 3 meter. Is that fine ? Someone I know has a 4.9 and that is a bit too much - so I'm a bit wary of the 4.0 meter one too hehe Thanks People! Quote
rasga Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 first off: "eggshocks" are not a style of trucks : two main truck styles are skate and channel trucks (the airdeck has skate trucks) if a board has channel trucks then yes you can place elastomers/"eggshocks" inside the springs you mention you are very light. . .fancy quantifying that?. . .my 4m is a nice board kite most the time. and im "light". .but thats at 8.75 stone. . .dont know how "light" you are in comparisson also, can i ask the reason on why you are deadset on the bladeIII. .just wondered. . . Guest CloudBurst Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I weigh 8.5 stone - so not much less than you! I just really like the blade kites. I've flown the blade one and 2, and people I know have them. The Blade 3 looks great, and from what people say it flys well too. It's just the kite I like Anyone know more about the AirDeck etc Thanks! Quote
WannabeKiter Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Well I'm gonna get a Blade III soon aswell, and a first landboard! Personally I was thinking about the flexdeck more than the airdeck, purely because it is a better all rounder. I like the graphics on the airdeck more but it is just not as good all round as the flexdeck. I know that this doesn't really help much, but it was interesting to see someone in the same boat as me. Guest CloudBurst Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 WannabeKiter - I've been looking more at the airdeck, because for me it seems like a better options. It's smaller, wich is good as I want something that moves easily. It's lighter so it'll jump better. Quote
Tone Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 i havent boarded before this weekend... i went out on friday and bought myself an Airdeck, and i have to say i am really REALLY pleased with it. it i s alittle heavier than i thought it was going to be, but it is great fun. to be honest it depends what you want to do. i want to jump and do grabs and stuff.... so i went for the air deck. the handle it has on the deck is really usefull for carrying i think it would be really awkward walking round with a board with no handle.... but i can tell you it will be a while before i am using that handle for board offs.
