silus Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 My wife is a nurse and she has advised against buggying on medical grounds. She treats lots of wheelchair patients for pressure sores (scabby arse) and as sitting in a buggy is quite similar to using a wheelchair then it stands to reason that buggiers could be prone to the same complaint. Do any of you extreme sportsmen suffer from this? And if so, how have you dealt with it? My wife would be interested to hear your comments. Thanks Silus Quote
MadAndy71 Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 In a word, No. I am always shifting around in my seat and dont spend days, weeks, months or my whole life in it. Quote
Skud_Mark Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Has your wife warned you against sitting in an armchair too as the one's with wheels on are even more like sitting in a wheel chair! Quote

spooky Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Hi All, There have been big advances in the last 12-18 months in the field of reliveing pressure soarsthat occure from extended buggying. There have been variouse forms of padding devised to prevent along with a number of creams for treating soars that have already developed. How ever, the one tratment that I have been useing and I can honestly say works is this one. For a one off payment of £180 (though there are a number of cheaper, but just as effective alternatives on the market) you can get one of these, see attached picture. Guaranteed to prevent all pressure soars. :) :) Quote
silus Posted February 9, 2003 Author Report Posted February 9, 2003 well it took a mountainboarder to suss that one out, you lot take stuff way too seriously! Quote

NGH Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Spooky God that was funny! But won't a buggier need instructions on how to use it ( and someone to read them LOL ), can see someone hurting themselves when they sit on the foot straps. Neil Quote
