axelant Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Does anyone have any tips? I am pretty new to this and usually use the beach where I can slide around or land without any worries, but if I want to fly in my lunchtime I have to use grass and I am finding it hard to adapt to the extra grip. Cheers Axelant. Just a Super 10 but it does me OK! Quote
buggy nut Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 try sitting on your ass!! or put bags on your feet i live in Eastbourne aswell, where do you fly? buggy nut Quote
axelant Posted February 4, 2003 Author Report Posted February 4, 2003 I usually go to Pevensey Bay but if I am short of time, down by the Sovereign Centre. Where do you go? Bags on my feet? Fine, I wouldn't look stupid at all then! Mind you, it's so muddy at the moment, it could be worth it. Quote
fireboy1 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 yuo need a kite tray and a pair of waterproof trousers ,ive taken a very thick plastic pub tray riveted sum straps from an old baby buggy to it so it can be strapped tightly round yuor legs and waist like a harness and use for an activity ive labbled "bum surfing"Great fun and cheaper than a board or a buggy!!!! thinking of going into production !!! buggy nut Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 i go flying up beachy head. west wind is best up the top field and east wind is best down a few hundrad meters by the car park. other side of road in a n-west wind, go bombing down the hill in buggy or board! buggy nut Quote
Spacehelmet Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Grass is illegal. you shouldn't do anything "on grass". Although "flying on grass" does enhance the experience, I wouldn't recommend it. ex grass user Quote
p0ssume Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 If you want to be the man on grass get yourself some shoes that the soles are completly gone so that you can slide well. Then just lean back while bending your knees like said in an above post. thats about the best for grass yo Quote
axelant Posted February 6, 2003 Author Report Posted February 6, 2003 Grass is illegal I never understood why it's so expensive - I cut my lawn once a week in the summer and I get loads of it. Mind you, smoking it can be hazardous because of the neighbours cats. P0ssume - Thanks for that, I have a perfect pair of shagged shoes. I'll try it when the temperature comes above freezing! Quote
blade3k Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Yeah, grass is more fun if you are on your arse. Quote
