p0ssume Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Ok heres the quetion that I have to anyone, I have been flying a Blade II 4.9 for around a year with a good friend and I have finally saved up enough for my own kite. I am wanting something bit larger. I am stuck between the Blade II 6.4 and the new ozone frenzy. Has anyone flewn the frenzy? Does anyone reccommend one or the other? I am looking for a kite that is going to get me off the ground. I am into jumping. thanx guys. Quote
UshCha Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I have flown a Frenzy for a few miniutes and buggied it. I personally don't think its a buggy kite as, it is a bit too stable, It is difficult to back off the ground as it is essentially a two line kite, its not that manoverable. I suspect for kite surfing and mountain boarding it is excellent. Quote

Put it this way though: I use my kites for jumping and mountain boarding - no buggying - and I've sold both my 4.9 and 7.8 Blade IIs specifically so that I can buy a Frenzy 7.3. They are simply a fantastic kite for the kind of flying you're talking about, but are much safer and more versatile than Blades (great though Blades are). Quote
Fatboygetsair Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I have just started buggying but have a 6:4 Blade which is up for sale because it has a MENTAL!!!!!!!!!! amount of lift, now i weigh in at 17.5 stone and the ******* lifts me in 8mph way off the deck. So if you want lift then get a blade:) Quote

So if you want lift then get a blade:) The Frenzy is still a better bet, IMHO: all the lift of a 6.4 Blade, but you can depower it down to the equivalent of 3m Blade or thereabouts, so it's much safer, and usable in a much wider range of winds... mik Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 my advice is try each of them out if possible from a shop or friend cos someone elses opinion isnt necissarily the same as yours will be you will only really feel safe if its the kite your most comfortable with Quote
Filthy Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 Depends really, are you able to fly a kite on a bar? Have a go first before you commit yourself to the frenzy. Clive (Who found out using VPS aint that easy!) Quote
burgy Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 The Depower systems better on a Frenzy, After all the kite was designed with depower in mind while the Blades VPS is a retro fitted mod. MAybe the BladeIII will address that. You should definately fly both before buying though. We will have some demo frenzys with us at Mablethorpe this w/e if you can make it. Steve Quote

Even the amasing Flexifoil Blade needs a little more wind than that 12stone burgy Quote
savage Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Any kite, 8mph of wind, Way off the deck. Doubtful! Quote
