Mike Birt Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Hi All, This popped in my inbox this morning - I have sample on their way, so looking forward to trying them out. I was told that the V1 was the most popular lightwind board around - and it really was a superplaner... but usable as an everyday board. This new one is supposed to be earlier to plane and quicker upwind than the last super serious raceboard they made, yet looking at the vid it seems that perhaps fun can be had in lightwinds! Comes in 52 and 60 wide versions. Also check his kite out... count the struts! looking forward to trying hat one too, I hear some good things! Quote
Kite Kid Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 love the graphics, hoping to get myself full quiver of razors soon. you going to be holding any demo days for kit? Quote
Mike Birt Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 Indeed... I will try to get to as many of the contests as I can too... the Razor will be there too for those not feint of heart, as well as most of the range - but to bring the whole range I would need a mortgage and a truck; have you looked at the whole range? ;-) Airush Kiteboarding|Official Site Here is Clinton on the V2 tech and design side... Kite Kid Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I have checked them all out, heard some great things about the one from Jim at kiteworld, but i just love the feel of a good c, and havn't kited for 10 monts due to an injury so defo need to get that stoke back and i can imagine the razor doing a very good job of it Quote
madmax1599968885 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 airush one + airush sector V2 = freeride spirit the board is THE freeride I think, and that kite seems like great... didn't tried it yet, this summer I will 4 sure! Quote
Tjah1087 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 it doesnt look like light wind with all those white caps tho... Quote
SonnyRider Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 it doesnt look like light wind with all those white caps tho... But at the start there are few if any white caps, clearly it picks up during his session. How about this then? it's last years board [video=youtube;-0EtWJuT2R4] Quote
Tjah1087 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 But at the start there are few if any white caps, clearly it picks up during his session. How about this then? it's last years board when he first gets on the water at ~1:00 there are loads of white caps? That zephyr vid looks like proper light wind tho! Quote
Highlander UK Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 it doesnt look like light wind with all those white caps tho... just what i thought when i saw the vid. Quote
kiteingcolin Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 he is a bit good, clearly not in his first year, Quote
Mike Birt Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 just what i thought when i saw the vid. yeah me too.. lol.. I looked at the wind and thought.. mmm.. 9m twin tip weather!! ;-) The board is supposed to be stunning in lightwinds.. it's always the windy performance and carving ability that lets these uber lightwind boards down. I watched an experienced chap on a raceboard today in light winds and he could not ride it.. looked like hell. http://www.airush.com/2011/slides/slides_sector/Sector%20Banner%20v5.png Quote
Mike Birt Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 And for those of you that like pain and suffering, but like winning races even more.... http://www.airush.com/2011/slides/slides_monaro/Monaro%20v2[1].png this is the board designed to give you bragging rights! The Pinniacle of Racing Peformance Quote
jamesslingshot Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 you on the race course this year then mike.... news is that there may be some slalom this year too... Quote
kiteingcolin Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 you on the race course this year then mike.... news is that there may be some slalom this year too... if mike goes racing again then will that mean gf (SLINGSHOT) will be tempted to rejoin the race scene, they did both race against each other in the windsurfer race series, mike was a junior I think, and he did beat gf did he not? Quote
jamesslingshot Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 i am pretty sure that mike and GRF never crossed paths on the race course, if they did it would have been longboard stuff Quote
kiteingcolin Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 i am pretty sure that mike and GRF never crossed paths on the race course, if they did it would have been longboard stuff yes it was the longboard series. Quote
Mike Birt Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 Shinn has being trying to convince me to get back into the race scene for a while - I did 10 years of traveling with big long poles, enjoyed it.. but competition is cruel mistress... Nope, I have evolved.. you won't catch me on a start line again ;-) GRF and I, he had left the series before I began, and he specialised in a different class to me, although we could have met somewhere on the course, maybe UKBSA, I know I competed again some of his sponsored riders for many years.. jimmy6 Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Anyone had a go on one of these boards yet? I am keen to see how well they work with my Speed 3 for light winds as well as for epic downwinders. Quote
