Dunc Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Thinking about upgrading my board and buying a new one now that I'm getting a bit more confident. Just wandering what people think about the Juice Evolution and Widebody. The price has taken my eye and if what they say is true they should be good all round boards. I've looked through an old thread about them but not many people had tried them out back then so hopefully there'll be a bit more feedback floating around now. Anyone know where I can demo one too. Usually flying out of Hunstanton but do tend to travel around a lot. Mostly getting out in flat water and light chop. Quote
cowboy54 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Have a word with Steve in Hunstanton Watersports he sells the juice boards so might have a demo. Also have a word with Jord or Dave at Kite-kit as they always have a good few boards on demo Quote
Mike Birt Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Hey Dunc, I'm the agent for them in the UK... There is a demo Evo at Hunstanton, and a few around the other major stores. PKS have them in stock, so do S2AS, Surfstore, and if you are not near any of those, let me know and I can arrange a demo. The evo is a very good board. I have done quite a bit of testing on all twins over the last year and it's still one of the easiest and smoothest boards around. Very good range and upwind for the control it gives. Quote

squiznick Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 I recently bought a 2nd hand Juice WideBody board & can fully recommend. Build quality is up there with the rest of the major brands ( better ?) it feels quite heavy, but that's probably a misconception on my part due to the length & comparing it with my 130 custom board (which is light but not particularly stiff) I've used it at Rhosneigr & New Brighton in a variety of conditions, waves, flat, & chop in 9 & 12m weather It gets going very quickly & although i've not been out on a maxed session it doesn't feel a handful when powered up I was a bit apprehensive that due to the width, it may be a bit of a handful in chop, but its sweet, & although I'm no expert on board design, suspect the length prevents it from tripping in chop etc. Only slight -ve is that once or twice I've lost my edge & it "tea tray'd" a bit down wind rather quicker than expected, though this could be dismissed as I was getting used to the board, other boards might have tripped me off completely (see above) or just stopped dead, just wondered if this was a common finding or can be put down to User error (sorry in work & typing this up like a defensive mitigation for an audit finding !!!!) Mike Birt Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 yeah, the width does have more say on how the board rides, and the rail is the boss of such a short length.. plus the power it holds is generally more than a twin of similar range so if you unweight the rail it will teatray.. Here is a shot of one mid carve, full weight.. http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/download/file.php?id=832 Quote
