Sorry al you southern coasters for ruining your fun as just bought a new quiver of airush varials 9 and 12m hence the northerly winds!

After some advice on the settings as not masses of info in the book. It has an extended bridles and there are three knots which i undersatnd on the back steering lines however it has extra knots on the leading edge for the bridle,What are they for??

It also have extra knots on the smart bar like three on each line.

Now correct me if i am wrong but i have set bar up so all lines are same length powered up so middle power lines are back one knot and others are on the end knot making all lines the same length.

Is this right as i am used to ions which are sinmple extra knot more power and turning speedbut why on all lines?

sounds like they have copied it off the wainman kites.

it allowes the kite to fly at different positions of the the window for upwind or downwind riding.

I would have a look at user guide on the wainman website to see if that helps

There's is a Q+A on the Airush forum about the attachment points on the LE.

Link to Airush website

As for the knots on the bar....they are for trimming options and shouldn't really be needed.

I flew a 2010 Varial 9m on equal knots and it was excellent.

Very difficult to help without being there when you fly it.

The kite end of things should only have 1 knot on the rear line pigtail with some 'white marks' where you can tie more knots and the front bridle has a loop so no adjustment there.

HI Bud,

Got this re: the knots on the kite end having whit marks for adjustments of power and turning so understand this as alays have them set up at the top kite as like this.

When all knots at bar end are the same the lines are to loose to fly and lack of control so have to put the back lines ton third and last knot on the bar and then on the first know on the front power lines and this seems to work on the 12m but aint trialed the 9m as yet??

Right, I just got in from my first session on a 2010 12m Varial and I had the lines on the furthest knot from the bar on the centre lines and the knot nearest the bar on the outside lines and it was perfect. I'm 96kg and was planning just fine in 15 knots on my 134 x 40 TT.

The 12 and 9 combo is awesome for what I'm after.
