speed 2 12metre....expect to pay about 500-you won't be dissapointed-check out ebay ...one on there cheap at the mo £175

That would be worth keeping an eye out for IMO.

Can't say much about the S3 as I've never even seen one. I just know that my S2 was friggin' awesome!! Still gutted I had to let it go...

Just be prepared though, dropping a flysurfer in the Banff chop can get messy I imagine. Those kites have enough bridle to knit a jumper for a Diplodocus...

Just got myself a flysurfer rookie2 and I have to say its awesome took it out today for the first time, flying a depower and on the bar is different to my traction days, but wow I am smilling from ear to ear.

as gregga says, dont go before the p3. speed 2 is good, speed 3 is great. expect to be paying a lot though.

So you think the Rookie was a bad buy for my first depower Krazy? Your thoughts would be appricieated

theres a spd1 10metre on there now£50........agree with gregga about pyscho3, but think spd 1 should be included-not as refined or as much depower as the 2 ,and it is harder work, and with the turn is a bit blocky , but more grunt , less depower ...still a great kite

to make room for a 21m - of course!

i like this very much!

@ funky - i know of people who have had rookie 2's in the past and not had problems at all. do handle a bit like some of the older ozone depowers, tends to be the older closed cell flysurfer's i would stay way from (p3 or older in my opinion)

Cheers guys, very helpful. Im thinking speed, its really going to be a lightwind kite for the water as iv got lots of bows to cover evrythin else. Was just very impressed with speed4 12m out at Balmedie, Aberdeen the other week, he stayed out when most other bigger tubes had gone in!!! and was getting silly angles on the upwind, was trying to follow him on 12m nova2 and whilst he was a better rider than me i was struggling to keep up, impressed. Im following the speed 2 on ebay but notice someones just put same kite on here for just under £500. Dont think im going to be able to stretch to speed 3, just out of curiosity what would we be talking for a 12m or even 15, I think thats for Westwood???? Basically im wanting something to fit in above or below, my 12m nova, depending on which way u look at it. Prob riding a big directional in those light winds. The 12m speed sounds like good compromise between turning speed and power-de power!!!!

Also lots of advice about Flysurfers in general.

Personally, I'm saving my pennies for a bigger Siii or PSivn (probably 15M). There are some craking deals around on Sii's and PSiii's though and with the replacement for the Pulse ii due soon a bigger one of those (12M or 14M) might be what you're looking for. The Pulses are, in general, easier to fly / relaunch than the earlier models of Speed or Psycho so might be more beginner friendly (in a foil context) than the others.

Ps2 Im not looking for something to go mental on, im oldish and basically want a steady cruiser that will go high and long sometimes when im feeling that way out :-)

In that case I'd say a SpeedII is the way to go. Speak to Kord - he flew mine at Ardersier and I think he was a bit impressed. He was doing short flights rather than jumping :D

Seeing as you're a bit heavier than me I'd say a 12m would give you a better low end for light wind cruising than my 10m would have.
