DaftCookie Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 my bro's probably getting one of these tomorrow. Dont think they will hang around long at this price Samsung LE40B530 | 40 inch LCD TV 1080p HD Ready Freeview | Richer Sounds Quote
cookie121 Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 anything above 32" without an HD source the picture will be poor especially with broadcasts that are not recorded in HD don't let the salesroom HD DVD's fool you, for the best results you will inevitably need an upscaling device or HD sky box. braddels Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 decide a budget and stick to it. oh and i would reccomend panasonic Quote
abba Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Panasonic for me too... bit more pricey but amazing quality and go full 1080p... don't fart around with HD Ready i was watching a HD Ready Panasonic Tv yesterday, and the quality difference between our 1080 set and the 720 set is crazy! this was just digital tv... i guess the 100hz against 50hz helped so stick to 1080p 100hz or more and don't go too big for your room... otherwise it looks tacky and council estate... 32" is normally fine in an average living room Quote

Cyprino Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 BBC HD channel is very good on our Panasonic's built in freesat. ITV sometimes show stuff in HD, you can press red to view it if it's available. The picture quality really is something else, I can't wait to get a PS3!! Quote

boat man Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 We have just got a new Philips 42" which has some brilliant picture quality can really tell the difference between normal and HD channels. I have the old Plasma from the living room that was replaced with the LCD there is now and theres no comparison the LCD is has much better colour. Im not sure if its the age of the Plasma tv as it we got it when the price became a bit more affordable. Quote
