Now that we are approaching winter im starting to think about additional wormth, out today in 35+ winds it started to get a little chilly and got me thinking another layer would be benifical, can anyone reccomend a decent windproof neoprene jacket to go over my wetsuit when on the water.

Cheers

the video explains what it does :)

that top is a VERY good layer, ive been using one under my steamer for ages and i swear by it. you wouldnt believe how much warmth you get from such a thin bit of clothing. a lot of these "thermal rash vests" you pay 60 quid for from oneiil and things youre paying for a lump of neoprene with a fancy logo on it.. theyre not really that techinical in terms of warmth in most cases.

what keeps you warm sailing is the same clothing youd wear kitesurfing pretty much (ive been wearing all this stuff for a while now on the dinghy racing circuit and have tried most things to keep the winter bearable! :D ). i wear one 5/4mm wetsuit all year round and layer and im never cold at the core.

a spray top wont do much for warmth kitesurfing as youre pretty much wet the whole time. if youre sailing where youre out of the water and getting splashed THEN they have a point.

works a treat, has thumb hole things in the sleeves to help you get it on.

Used it under my 3mm summer wettie when its getting towards winter.

Only just changed to my 5mm winter suit and will stick this under when it get to chippin the ice off weather.

I dunno, I spend my time on the water rather than in it ;) If you have a double lined suit that you are trying to extend the season on a spray top will stop the wind evaporating water off it & cooling you down. Also keeps you much warmer when you come in to de-rig, which is tbh when most people seem to feel the cold most. Just my 2p:)
