hi there,

im currently flying a sting 3.3 on my mbs landboard but im not getting the lift i really want. i would like to move up to something a bit for lifty but i would like to keep about the same size so i can still fly it in 25mph but with a bit more lift, any ideas on what i could use without overpowering myself?

cheers

Flexi Blade III 3.0m - Lifty kite but does bite hard when you get it wrong

Flexi Bullet 3.5 - more of a traction kite but i did my first jumps on a 4.5

PKD buster II or III 3m can change the angle of attack to suit wind speeds not as refined as the flexi options.

HQ Beamer II or III - I've only briefly flown a Beamer III 4m and found that my Buster II 4m had more lift

Flexi Rage very similar to the Bullet, flew a 4m ish and found it had lift on static flying

Flexi Blade IV 4m much more composed than the Blade III - 4m is the smallest size tho

Ozone Flow - never ridden on one myself but they seem to get a glowing report from people on here

I'm not sure of your weight and riding style, but I can tell you in my personal experience that a 4 meter fixed bridle in 25 MPH will pick you up with authority, but doesn't have a lot of float and really requires some work to land without getting smashed. Seeing that you're 12 years old, I'd bet you'd go flying pretty high in the winds you're wanting to fly in. Most fixed bridles will be pulling really hard in 25 MPH winds. See if you can borrow a larger (5 meter or so) depower kite for an hour or two. You might really enjoy the benefits of depower (higher wind range, more control over the power), and you can find a lot of them used at a great discount. My two cents.

tsp13, you seem to be advertising your sabres at evry opotunity..( is getting a little anoying but ohwell lol )

hm..

3.5-4.7m rage..

3-4m flow

3-4m hq beamer

i wouldnt recomend using these in 25mph wind when u get it, they will pull alot more then your 3.3m sting..

if your after a high wind kite then a:

rage 1.8m

flow 2m

hq beamer 2m

all great high wind kites

or as guitar_nut said maybe try a depower foil around 5m meter size.

imo a ozone access would be good, not much lift great for learning with though.

there is also the frenzy and manta if your feeling confident :D!

i recommend the Ozone flow, lovely kite. had a go on a 5mtr, nice little thing, with a bit of pull and with the perfect amount of lift for beginners. will take you up, but not far, and lower you gentally down again if you keep it high.

Might be a tad more money, but you get what you pay for.

if you have the kite skills depowerable is the way forward. They have a much bigger wind range and are so much nicer to fly. When most people learn to kite surf they start straight of on a lei there is none of this fixed bridle buissness.
