BEFORE I GO ALL OUT, DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD NAME AND SHAME USERS IF YOU BUY AN ITEM FROM THEM IN GOOD FAITH AND FIND OUT ITS NOT AS IT SHOULD BE??? THEN GIVE THE INDIVIDUAL PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO RESOLVE IT, SEE THEM LOG ON EVERYDAY FOR NEARLY A WEEK, PM THEM EVERY DAY AND THEY CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO REPLY?

WHAT DO YOU THINK.........

I think you would be doing everyone a great favour to highlight those people who are not as they seem, I fully understand the differences that come from buying second hand goods, but if given an opportunity to put issues right, only to ignore the issue, this is poor form.

Tell all andso it doesnt happen again....

It's a good idea but we should approach it with caution.

If for example the seller offered a product with a defect and the buyer was aware that he was getting a product with said defect, then it would be unfair to name & shame the seller if the buyer complains later.

With any disputes between buyer and seller naming & shaming should only be practiced in real genuine cases where the seller has swindled the buyer.

I would suggest that a written sales agreement be made, which identifies condition of product being sold. This would avoid disputing parties ranting on this forum how they got diddled or how the seller had informed the buyer of defects.

Ideally, it would be good if the seller is able to inspect the product before buying and the seller draws up a note that the buyer signs that says, 'Sold as seen'.

However, a lot of stuff is sold on e-bay so the buyer doesn''t always have the opportunity to inspect the product before buying, hence my idea of the seller producing a document about the condition of the product he's selling.

If he lies about the condition, then paste the condition document along with seller's name, contact details, photo or whatever to shame him.

This drysuit was sold for £90 including delivery, the buyer was told I had only used it when in the buggy only, at no point was I was I asked if it was suitable for kitesurfing and at no point did he tell me he was a kitesurfer. The only time I was asked if it was suitable for kitesurfing was after the drysuit had been paid for. I was not aware of the suit having any problems with letting water in, surely this should have been one of the first questions asked prior to the purchase.

Kitesurfing with a drysuit? Is that normal? I would of thought it would create too much drag.

Would he not be better getting a winter wetsuit?

Matt is well known on here, he has bought and sold many items through the Flexifoil forum there are lots of people that will vouch for him, he is not in the business of deceiving people to make a quick sale or a few quid. You obviously didn't do your research before you made this purchase, a classic case of "pilot error" and I'm afraid you have only yourself to blame.

I'll second that, he is a top class understanding chap, If you asked before the sale he'd of gladly told you, If you don't make sure its what you want before you buy its tough,

Yes, loads of people kitesurf in drysuits, including me. So long as the seals are nice and tight, theres no problem.

Sorry guys i'm not disputing the fact about his postings, however a DRYSUIT is desined to keep you dry, irrespective of anything else. If i had wanted a coverall i would of brought overalls. I think the point is being missed here, i brought a drysuit.....it leaks????????

Lets look at this another way....Who would buy a leaking drysuit???

And in fairness two things, i have never named who it was, or what was brought until this thread, and secondly, he has now agreed to refund the money and am just awaiting an address to return the suit to him.

If anyone would like to buy a drysuit that leaks, please feel free!!!!!

I guess someone who just wears it to buggy in and gets splashed from time to time? Sorry for salt in the wound, but since he never wore it into the water, he didn't even know it leaked when submerged. This is one of those cases where the seller is correct and honest in everything he says and knows about the suit, and you aren't off base with your expectations. However there is a gap between the two that the buyer fell into. Kudos to the seller for going above and beyond what should be expected. Steepsand, you should be gratefull for his generosity.

I think you will find a lot of the suits called dry suits are infact surface dry suits which are good for sports where you are not in the water but boats and the like. I have had more than one which kept me well dry in the buggy but would leak in the water.

How and where did it leak then?

What wrist, ankle and neck seals did it have?

And how wet did you get as one of teh down sides of dry suits is sweat, I always come out of mine damp.
