Freeman Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Following on from the "Music from your youth" thread, any choons out there that drag up memories of past relationships.... Had a reminder from an old g/f about breaking her heart on Facebook... 'Tasmin Archer - In Your Care' Yeah, I was a bad man..... Anyone else? Or just me? Quote
abbe89 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Fall Out Boy - Thanks for the Memories reminds me of my ex, as he was a huge fallout boy fan, but its so true 'thanks for the memories, even if they werent so great' Quote
Maddog-Pete1599968700 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 all of mine are sad, stems from driving home from wales after splitting, when the only station i could get was radio 2. jennifer rush the power of love is always one Quote
Freeman Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 On the flip-side I have one of my own, well, several really, but the most poignant would probably be.. "Something I Can Never Have - Nine Inch Nails" Quote
Fluffy-lou Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Not necessarily a break up choon - but I can't listen to The Fray's 'All at Once' without crying. Quote

dreadycraig Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 U2 - With or without you. My first love and she trampled all over my heart Quote
eeyore Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Got a few mainly: Fused "terror" Jan Johnston "Flesh" Killers "Mr Brightside" All the lyrics are quite deep then you think about them. oh and: Motorcycle "As the rush comes" Ocean Lab "satellite" Quote
tarion Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 ^^^^^ U2 - With or Without You has poignant meaning here too, but not for splitting with an ex. I played it at my son's funeral as I used to dance around the room with him in my arms singing it to him before he died and it just seemed so apt to play it at his funeral. Luckily enough time has passed, (19yrs!!!) that it doesn't make me sad when listening to it, instead I remember the happy times of dancing around the living room etc... As for song that made me think of the ex, Muse - Feeling Good! (sorry, but that's how I felt when i'd got rid of the dead weight!!!) Quote
abbe89 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Killers "Mr Brightside" the same ex....dumped me by text after about 10months, refused to talk to me, then put a myspace blog thing saying how relevant the lyrics of that song were 'it was only a kiss, how did it end up like this?' a bit malicious the problem is clubs play it all the time, and everybody loves it apart from me Quote

Atavar Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Muse, Map Of Your Head and Falling Down. My favourite band listened to them to get me through my first breakup. Bejork Venus As A Boy (bit of self pitty there) and Human Behaviour to get through the second breakup. Haven't really bothered since too hard to watch them leave. I bet theres a bunch of you out there who can't listen to the album 'Play' by Moby, i know i can't. Quote
