Light wind kites

What are good light wind (12-15mph) kites from the current crop ? For kitesurfing only C's bowmo or SLE hybrids

Easier to buy a fat board, big kites are slow, have less range and are a pain to relaunch in light wind.

 

I've got a 135/47.5 and my 12.5 was my biggest kite, I could be planing in 11mph (I'm 80kgs)

takoon furia 13m. turns faster then a waroo 11m(i had both), excellent low wind and top end and relatively cheap if you can get hold of one. look on iksurfmag.com issue 9 for a review, and you will understand . i have owned ion 2's,waroos, nemis, instincts, pretty much everything under the sun and the furia is imo the best by a country mile

Ozone Light II. 12 or 14m. After owning a shed full of so called light wind kites up to 18m, I've realised that one of the most import characteristics is lightness so they stay in the air. Amazing kites in the waves also.

check the bandit or bandit dos, really powerful for their size (f-one reccomends you take a size smaller than you normally would they are so powerful). i can get goin on my 9 in about 15mph (70kg and ride bindings) which is pretty good, so i reckon the bigger sizes would be killer low wind kites..

Not the royal era 14 then?

 

I cant compare it to that much, but it seems good, ive been out when no1 else has been able to on a 135 555 and im 12.5 stone.

 

It does get overpowered really quick, and the sent jumps arent that much fun, but if you want a really grunt kite to do pop tricks behind, the royal is a beast. I had mine out on 30m lines in egypt recently and it was great fun, it didnt require any input at all, you just park it where you want and do your tricks behind it.
