Foilman Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Hey guys, thought you'd like a look at my latest creation: My Son (16) just started Kitesurfing - was up and planing after his first Hour session! The feeling was great till I realised I wouldn't be getting my board or kite back in a hurry. This is the solution - its based on the first board I made, but this one really works. Its a ply, PU foam & Bamboo sandwich with a concave base. Tracks like a train but planes early and its good fun when its a bit powered up too. I made it 140 x 40 to give him something to stand on to start off with - and a light wind option for me! Cost was about £40 - I had the fins & strapslying about at home. Pics here FM Quote
angus8ken Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 looks good, heaps of concave! was the bamboo in a ply too? Quote
Foilman Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 No - I used whole pieces as per last time, but much less - only 3 per side. When I gets round to it, I'll do a photo blog of the build... Quote

Ed_H Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Bamboo, nice. You can buy ski's with bamboo core and they are 'supposed' top be the nuts. You have a nice looking board there. Quote
DaftCookie Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 looks good man, one bit of advice when out on the water thou, keep away from giant pandas, they just might eat that board to shreds... Quote
