No worries Vipar, i'll put your name down.

Later in the week i'll contact everyone, so we have an idea of numbers and Andre has time to get enough materials and pieces together to build enough example stages.

Regards,

.Joel

Big thanks to Andre for running the board building course, it was a really enjoyable day, heaps of info, tips, & tricks, plenty of ‘what to do’ and ‘what not to do’, and a bunch of great stories… the board you lost/forgot still cracks me up! Every step of the way the different possibilities were discussed, which means at the end of the day there are an infinite number of ways to build a board. In short, you’re never building 2 boards the same! I thought the creativity this allows you is fantastic, albeit a little overwhelming at first.

I’ve had limited experience with composites in practice, and no experience in board making, for me this course was perfect. You don’t need a wealth of theoretical knowledge in board design, but you do need the know-how when it comes to the building. It’s also a progressive process of developing a board to suit you, rather than laying out “the perfect board”. Getting it right in practice, I think, is more important, which is why Andre’s course was the perfect start for me.

What I didn’t realise was the significant initial setup one needs to consider before beginning to think about laying down some plies. Andre showed us his setup, but also mentioned how others achieved the same ends – some of the novel ideas were pretty experimental and creative, but they work! If you’re serious about making and maintaining your own boards, this course is a great start, I’d definitely recommend it.

Board meetings have never sounded so appealing. Really looking forward to getting into this, it’s new motivation for me to get my studies out the way. Cheers Andre, as if kiting itself wasn’t addictive enough.
