aevans692 Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 I got my new vegas today I opted for the 9 m and 12 m , I had my first session on the water aswell And I really loved them , They felt loads better than the ion3 turned faster, more low end, more grunt , much smoother , more stable, more power. just heaps better.. I really can not fault tham in any way.. Quote
Blue Ice Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 lol both are good kites mate so there is no need for bashing the Ion3... Some people hey... Quote
Fairy Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 haha..how did you manage to launch them after?? Quote
aevans692 Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 Not putting the Ion3 down in any way.. I have ridden the ions for over two years yes they do have there faults as do many kites , I just had enough of them . . And I felt that the Vegas is the better .. I had the girlfriend to launch me after I launched my mate , he got a set too ...lol. Quote

g3legacy Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 lol who cares - its the skills of the rider that counts isn't it? I expect Hadlow would be ripping on both. Quote
aevans692 Posted July 18, 2008 Author Report Posted July 18, 2008 Yes 08 . . . guys I'm not giving them a bashing just telling how it is.. some of you seem a little sensitive about your kites..lol. It really is horses for courses for me I am pleased I made the move . I wanted the extra performance . . . Quote

ChrisJH Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 To be fair though, the Vegas is an awesome kite!!! Quote
andrewlcblueyo Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I don't have a Vegas....probably wouldn't use one to its full potential anyway (or at all currently with a broken arm) but I have to say at Ainsdale it always seems to be the Vegas's that look the best; that and Slingshot Fuels. Having said that why compare a C kite to a Bow? They are just completely different bits of kit. Quote
KiteItRight Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 man the vegas will work for anyone, everyone should be on a kite like that, its so friendly even a newbie could use it! Quote
ricks Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 i have 9 n 12 and love em, tons of power when you want it but loads of de-power when it get a bit mental. my riding has come on loads, think having confidence in your gear is a must. Quote
andrewlcblueyo Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I hear the Vegas 09 is going to be a bit of a dog though...might be tough getting hold of 2nd hand 08's if that is true... Quote
ricks Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 cant see it being a better model than the 08. seems there trying to make 1 kite for everyone? if its got anymore de-power its a bow? talking about sheeting out to loose most of the power "a bow kite then"?? Quote
paulie_amoose Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 The 08 is the finest kite I have ever flown, I flirted with Ozone hybrids for a short while after 4 years of flying North C kites and i went nowhere fast. As soon as I came off the hybrid and back onto the Vegas my riding improved again. I came off a really good shop rider deal and payed full price for these kites, thats how much I rate them. I just cant see how to improve them. The 08 Vegas is my heroin kite.. Quote
KiteItRight Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 prsonally i woul hang on and wasee what happens witht he 09 vegas, those pictures arent even meant to be out, they could just be a proto design. Whatever happens i think changing the most sucessful kite of the year would be nuts Quote
Gomas Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I am not bashing either but this thread reminded me of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-purchase_rationalization. North Wind LMFAO!!! Quote

Whatever happens i think changing the most sucessful kite of the year would be nuts There are already shops using those photos/details taking advance orders for 09s so I don't think they can be changing the 09 design that much Given that the shipping is due in Sept/October, I'd expect they're in production right now? My mate was on 06s and went over to Ion2 last year. She really didn't like the Ions at all and sold them to buy Vegas 08s.... am looking forward to trying them on Follow The Wind.. Quote
