  1. Ah yes, my bad. It has a kind of fifth line that goes half way up a front line. Never seen that, wonder if it will stay around. Love Cab bars, currently on my third, but the 2014 is a bonkers price so ain't gonna stay with them.
  2. Never heard of starkites but their bar looks fine. Also SwitchKites new to me and bar looks great, large range of configurations and a lot of nice features. Slingshot, I'm wary of the overbar spinner. I'll have a look at the Ozone bar. Cab 2014 has low V but still flags to both front lines not single. Thanks to all, I got some good options I had not considered.
  3. Have to agree on the RRD Global: narrowly avoided the mistake of getting one when I got RRD Obsessions in 2010
  4. Thanks BillyGoat Slingshot Compstick - looks very similar to the Universal which is good, all the right features, but it has a similar looking swivel - I wouldn't be surprised if it ceased after one use - anyone know different?
  5. Just got 2014 Naish Parks. Didn't get the recommended bar, Universal, as I have heard and seen for myself that the swivel is useless. Well worse than just useless because it probably increases line sawing. So can anyone tell me if there is a better alternative bar. I've looked at a few but none have the same combination of features as the Universal: - single line flag out (i've tried double and it doesn't like it) - low V (or Y or whatever you want to call it - where the front lines join together) - decent amount of throw (70+cm) - a swivel would be nice, either above bar (that really works - do any?) or below bar manually operated - tubed depower would also be nice, it's not 2005 is it I was thinking of getting the Naish Base and just balancing my rotations/loops. The Base is the same as the Universal but without the swivel - is that right? Airush Analog/Smart only 60cm throw. North Trust: is a high Y. And is it single flag out? Cabrinha Overdrive: not single flag out? Does anybody know anything about Nobile's bar? Any ideas?

  10. Great hybrid LEI, I have loved flying this kite. Just got a new 9m so this is up for grabs. Flies on any 4 line bar. Was going to save my bar and lines as a spare but could sell them too if you really needed them. Has been professionally repaired by Kitemare, they did an awesome job and it comes with their guarantee. Also included is the bag and manual. Looking for £180 to £200 + p&p. You are welcome to come and view, I live in Lancaster. Will post pics later.
  11. Any advice on how to ride a rail... Pop on or slide on? Turn side on or stay straight? Fins off I guess? Hooked or unhooked? Need to know for this: Ride and Slide Weekend - 23 & 24 June - Morecambe Bay Kitesurfing Hopefully it will be in the water and not in the middle of Acacia Avenue with a queue of traffic behind http://baykitesurfing.co.uk/images/slider1.jpg
  12. I met a fella who had skinned up to the top, he has done it a few times. After I'd chatted to him for a while he was off to buy a kite
  13. I went to Cairngorm Mountain in the end. Not enough snow or wind at the car-parks. Some good snow at the top but by the time I'd gone to see (via the funicular) it was too late to go back for my kites so just boarded for 1/2 day. I think you could set up away from the top runs and lifts ok, but don't think they would sell you a non-skiing ticket to use the funicular if you were carrying a board or skis. Seems to be a bit more hassle than its worth, what with coaches from the car-park and all the queues. I think when there is snow and wind down at the car-park levels then it would be a goer.
  14. Boc and hmac84, some useful info there, thanks for taking the time!
  15. I'll be heading up for a break in the Cairngorms, Feb 2011, staying not far from Kingussie. Hope to get some fine snowkiting in, I'm usually restricted to Lake District and Pennines which gives maybe 5 or 6 sessions a year, so the thought of a whole week of decent snow has got me dreaming. So what I'm asking here is: Where are the good snowkiting spots around there? Do you go by the resorts like Lecht and Aviemore? Or just rock up at any old hill? Any spots good for light snow if there has not been enough to bury the heather? Any tips or links appreciated, Cheers.
