  1. I put a slot near the top of the stands which the spar fits into (on either side of the kite). The kite is held onto the stands by a thin bungee cord. When you are ready, you just pull the kite toward yourself, away from the stands, pulling the bungees loose and releasing the kite.
  2. In reply to Busterboy.. Hmmm? You've got me there mate. Nice thought though!
  3. Thanks a lot mate. Appreciate the advice. Cheers!
  4. Thanks mate. I agree with you about not really needing it on the beach. On that stretch of beach there was a lot of pebbles and seaweed so it just made it a bit easier for me and I was also experimenting to see if the launcher stayed in the sand. It did.
  5. It seems you lads have came up with some nifty ideas how to launch a stacker. Good on yer!. I remember when I first got my kite and had a look on the net for a launcher, I couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd make one and then see if anyone else who might not have the time or inclination to make their own, might want one. No harm in asking. Happy flying to you and thanks for the chat. PS.Included another pic showing a side view. The launcher is made out of a very flexible plastic. Wouldn't imagine it to do any damage to man or kite.
  6. Heres a picture of my launcher taken at Blauwberg Beach at Cape Town, South Africa. There was a good strong wind blowing that day and the launcher held the kite perfectly even on the beach as shown.
  7. That's right. If the foil fills up into it's proper shape while on the ground it goes up easily.
  8. Thanks for that. My launcher is made out of a high visibility flexible plastic and holds the kite in a fixed position about 400mm from the ground. I would imagine it to be a lot safer than two bars sticking out of the ground ie if you accidently fell on them or you flew your kite into them. The kite comes out of the launcher like a rocket in a good wind.
  9. Hey guys, I have put together a professionally made kite launcher for The Proteam 8, Super 10 and Stacker 6 type of kites. I fly a lot on my own and have found the Ezee Launcher to be a no nonsense tool to get my kite up and away unassisted, on a wide range of ground surfaces, rough and smooth, without any damage to my kite. I have a presentation ready to send to you if you think it may help you. The rig costs less than twenty quid plus postage. Send me an email to gahughes@yebo.co.za with subject Ezee Launcher.
